Fuel level doesnt reach maximum after fuel tank replacement

Fuel level doesnt reach maximum after fuel tank replacement
Just got my car back from dealer today. They replaced fuel tank and related components under extended warranty. After first fill up fuel level reaches up to 3/4 only at max. What can cause this? i was able to put around 16 gallons before pump stopped itself. Now it stops at 13 gallon

Yeah I also get to worry about how they might screw up something else in car. specially when they cant even install a new tank properly

lol... so that is the 'fix'!!! Right now if we only put 3/4 tank of gas there is no leak. Maybe the 'new tank system' is just a shutoff at 3/4 full.

dealer called and said that they reprogrammed the computer and now fuel level reads correct level. Sounds BS?

Easy to test.


Drive till near empty, add 2 gallons at a time and see how the gauge reacts .

car is back and fuel guage is fixed. now it reads full. They said they had to reprogram the fuel gauge on cluster
