Default position for W211 radio system

Is there a way to set the default on the W211 radio system so that the clock setting is shown whenever you start the engine? I prefer that look to the other screen options. This is the non-nav radio that I'm referring to.

All the W211 has a "big" clock in the dash board. Why you need another clock reading?? Need "digital reading"??

I haven't found a way to make the clock display the default. When you start the engine you have to press the Serv and Clock keys to bring up the digital clock display.

Just wondering. Why you want to set clock default when there is a analog clock in the dash???

It's not a big deal but the analog display is difficult for passengers to see. I can imagine that on a long trip with kids in the back, the digital clock could keep the driver from constantly having to relay the time to the kids.

Well actually most of the time I'm listening to satellite radio and I'd prefer to see the time on the screen than the tape player setting. Right now I just press a couple of buttons each time I'm start the car and I'll keep doing it. But if it could be set in advance ......

Isn't that time off by 5 hours? I thought that the time shown on the radio display was GMT time.

No, a smaller clock inside the digital clock window is GMT. The big numbers can have whatever location you want.
