After market Android 4.4.4 Quad Core complete install. Vids and Pics and txt
outside the car with the stock sub i cannot hear a single rattle, yet inside the car it sounded so nice.
With another sub in the boot, outside the car everything rattles, and inside the car it doesn't sound that great.
Bad news. Radio arrived. Was missing transport screws and radio is completely dead.
Will raise dispute through AliExpress tomorrow and keep you posted.
Not 100% sure if it is the harness or the radio itself. but suspect its the radio as the transport screws were missing.

you can bench test the radio with 12v supply with at least 2 Amps.
Connect the positive to the yellow cable and negative to the black, you will also have a red cable, this needs to be connected to the positive as well. (this red cable also runs to the CANBUS box. so make sure that the box is also getting that 12v positive . this should cause the unit to power up like it would in the car. if not then the unit is busted.
try this with the long cable and from memory the unit comes with other plugs for cars without optical fiber. so you can try it on that short cable as well. I hope this makes sense?

Thank you for your assistance.
Raised a dispute with AliExpress and want to wait what they tell me or ask me to do to (if anything).

Thank you for collecting all this valuable informations.
Do you think this cable can be used instead of the 2 you specify:

I'm scared to disassemble all my SLK to pass these cables.

Would this work and allow me to use "surround sound"? I guess it would be:
channel 1: front left speakers
channel 2: front right speakers
channel 3: back left speakers
channel 4: back right speakers
channel 5: center and rears next to sub
channel 1x500: sub
Also, probably a dumb question but did you have to run new speaker wire to all speakers in the car with the new amp, or did you just use the existing wiring?
My unit is supposed to arrive tomorrow!
The existing wiring is thick enough. you wont need to run new cables.
You made a mistake with the distribution.
CH1 Front Left
CH2 Front Right
CH3 Rear Left
CH4 Rear Right
CH5 Sub woofer only as you will set this to Low pass frequency (30-100hz).
If you try to run the center and rear parcel shelf speakers of the subwoofer output, you will blow up your small speakers straight away)
As for the center and rear parcel shelf speakers, you will need crossover to remove the bass (low freq), as they will distort VERY easily. Even if you run them with the door speakers, they will distort because the door speakers are component speakers and are designed to accept and produce low freq.
in order to get the center and parcel shelf speakers going, so you will need a crossover box to filter out the low frequency from them.
Alternatively. you can run this setup. and avoid the crossover box.
CH1 Front left + Rear Left
CH2 Rear Right + Rear left
CH4 Center front (crossover set to hi freq)
CH4 2 rear parcel shelf speakers (crossover set to high freq)
CH5 Subwoofer.

I'm pretty sure that my SLK got an AMP. I have a COMAND APS NTG with Nav.
Nav unit is in the trunk, certainly connect with fiber optic.
I bougth (and not yet received) this S160 product :
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Andro...379131688.html
The seller made me buy this cable to bypass amp :
Thank you for the information about GPS cable.
Does anyone know this product :
https://navtv.com/products/NTV-KIT42...mb-opti-1.html
It replace the bypass cable, and allow to use orginial AMP and fiber optic.
The SLK post face lift had the newer COMAND NTG2 i think? it was an all in one unit.
Yes you will need the 6M long cable. and in this case the 6m long GPS cable.
The MOST module you linked is the same as the one on AVIN website for $130.
you can give it a shot, however i was not happy with the sound quality / sound level when i tested it a few years ago.
I've heard that the 2009 has more limitations than older model w211's on MOST, so if anybody has a "quick and easy" answer for me, that'd be great. I'd have to have a shop install, as stereo install wouldn't be my strong suit.
Back in the game.
The original seller and I still have an open dispute.
Order a new headunit from a second seller, better rating and better price delivered.
Strongly suspect the first head unit is dead.
Connect to 12V and its dead, nothing.
Checked with voltmeter 12V is arriving but its not reacting.
Should arrive end of next week.
Cheers, will take some videos
Can you tell me if the unit works with the instrument cluster, does the radio, navigation instructions and such get sent to the instrument cluster display?
