I have an E55 AMG 211. Before I call the transmission that and rebuild, my last thing I want to do is replace the 2>3rd gear solenoid. If somebody has one for cheap let me know. Ready to buy.

I have one in and old spark plug box that I keep in my fishing tackle box for situations just like yours---it's a little dusty, but 108 percent sure that it will fit one of your conductor plate connections--- the other good news is that it will be new to your car--sounds cool!!

I believe there are different solenoids for the different gears, no? Or are they all interchangeable (assuming reverse would use a different solenoid)?

If I'm going to drop the pan, and see if a new new solenoid fixes my slipping issue... Anything else I should replace? I've don't everything else do this thing except new clutch packs, this will be the last thing before I call it FUBAR.

You must be out of your mind----"and see if a new new solenoid fixes my slipping issue"---I would love to learn HTF you see if a solenoid is bad!!
Do yourself a huge favor, find some one with DAS Xentry and while driving have him scan the module---you will know instantly which solenoid is faulty, if any, before doing all that work.
You could say---well I'll change em all and FI, but what if it aint the solenoids!!
