E350 wagon rear folding seat issues...

Can anybody give me some advice before I torch my Benz, i'm so frustrated... I have a 2009 E350 Wagon with the rear facing extra seat option.

The rear part or back cushion panel is currently stuck at 45 degrees and will not retract. This in turn means i can't fold the seat back down flat or use them as intended. Im also not looking forward to getting a flat tire as I can't now access the spare wheel or jack.

I've visited 2 dealers and they both shrug their shoulders on what to do.

Currently missing my Mazda 6 sport wagon... MB are quality my ****.

Welcome and sorry to hear about your problem Hopefully someone can answer your problem. you must have some pretty bad dealers where you live if they could not solve the problem

Yes dbldpr thanks for the welcome. Just seems they are otherwise occupied with "Real" customers. I'm scared the whole rear interior will need to come out, open cheque-book for a MB dealer. what to do?

Had a similar problem with the neighbors car. Found toy wedged in lock mechanism. Do you have a good body shop near you Sometimes they might know what to do

Ok ok problem solved. Had a beer and relaxed. To gain access to the spring clips holding the upper portion of the split seat assembly you need to release the lower retainer spigots on the "seat cushion" portion of the lower seat. After removing the lower seat portion you then have access to the rear retainer/spring/ratchet assembly. In this instance the spring had dislodged and caused the ratchet assembly to stick and thus cause the possible arson on the vehicle. ;-) aaaaand relax.
