2006 e-350 base sedan
![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
My command center just stopped working. I have a 2006 e-350. i pulled and checked fuses in the trunk and passenger area, no luck. I saw a comment that the command center had a fuse in the back of the unit?? not sure how to get to it or if that's the right approach. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Replace the fuse in the rear SAM even if it doesn't look burned. But leave it out for 10 minutes or so first.
It is fairly easy to remove the COMAND unit but that's a different topic and last resort.

thx for the response, however no luck. Pulled both sets after the rear did not work, front and rear of fuses 3,6 26,28 and checked continuity of all. No difference. saw a u-tube on removal, I guess that would be the next logical thing to try, see if that fuse is blown.

Sorry to hear GL. I was hoping I could shed some light... Mine died in July and I just got it fixed a month ago.
I went to the dealer for another reason, and they gave me the part number and cost/labor and it was $1380.
My local MB specialist quoted me $1000 on a used part. They are supposedly plug and play, so he removed it and put in the new one.
I could have chanced it and probably got a used one myself and replaced it for $400 or so.
What kept me from that was if the Comand unit isn't turning on, there may be a fault component. The components (like NAV and CD changer) can keep the head unit from turning on.
I'd contemplated replacing it with an aftermarket, but found out the car has a fiber optic loop, so every bit of stereo wiring would have to be replaced. Best Buy said on the low end, $1500 for just wiring.
You can also pull the unit and send it into a repair specialist for a diagnostic or replacement.

Sorry to hear. It's a crap thing to have a problem with. I went without it for about 5 months.
