I have a 2005 E500 5.0l m113 engine in my car. I have a collapsed lifter that needs to be fixed, while fixing it I thought why not also upgrade the cams. I found some cams with lifters out of a 5.4l supercharged m113k E55. I beleive these are drop in upgrades correct? And I should expect about 10hp increase with these?

That or slr cams. Question, how did your lifter become collapsed? Is your oil pump working correctly??? It's not unheard of but I'm just being curious as to what the culprit is, if you know...

I thought SLR cams needed modifications to fit? Also are those going to give much gain over E55 cams?
The cams I found actually come with the rockers not the lifters. Can I reuse my old lifters just replacing the one bad one? Or do I need all new lifters?
I have no idea how the lifter collapsed. The engine was swapped into my car for me, when I got it back the new engine had a ticking noise coming from the drivers side rear valve cover. I drove it with the tick (I know I shouldn't have) but it is really annoying me now so I want to fix it.

It is entirely possible there is another problem. The engine arrived to me with the tick so not sure what happened to the motor before the tick started. Also I send the car out to have the swap done since I did not have anywhere I could do it myself. I know the guy that did the swap had the engine apart a few times, it is possible something happened then as well. I put about 12,000 miles on the engine with the tick and it hasn't gotten any worse, doesn't seem to be causing problems. I just am sick of everyone staring at me at every red light thinking my car is about to die lol.
On a side note, I see you are in VA. I use to live in Tysons Corner, and then was in Herndon after I got the engine swapped. Now I am in NH though. I should have posted earlier and maybe you could have helped me diagnose the issue lol.

Yeah, a dyno sheet would be your best friend pertaining to the diff gains. Yeah i'm in nova and for sure would of assisted as much as possible. Hahahaha at you at red lights-chicks staring at you like

Thanks for that sheet! I think I would rather wait and keep looking for a set of non kompressor cams instead then. You don't happen to have a sheet that has the same specs for the 5.0l cams as well do you? I just want to compare the cams I currently have installed to the ones I will install.

No I didn't have this spec sheet for 5.0 l conversion. But 4.3 and 5.0 is not that much different. I think the 5.5 n/a is the perfect tune for the 5.0
Yes, I was not able to find any camshafts at a reasonable price so I ended up only replacing the one bad lifter. Tick is still there but much better, I am pretty sure my issue is partial clog in the oil passage through the rocker arm assembly. I found way too much rtv sealant was used, and think some may have clogged the oil passage. I did try cleaning it out but guess I didn't get all of it.
I did finally find some camshafts after months of looking that I had shipped from Belarus, those arrived a few weeks ago. I will be pulling the engine hopefully in a few weeks to do the cam swap, recleaning the oil passage and a few other things. I have a Mini that needs to go back together before I can start though.
But I'm asking myself, what is better... the E55 n/a cams or E55K cams..??

I had it done to mine, the 55 n/a cams are installed.
The car is working great and there is more power. The Engine Sound is more sporty and sounds completely different to the OEM 500. I love that mods really.
No dyno sheet, but I will in april go for a dyno at Renntech Germany. I can't wait.
But I have to say, there was before the swap already a ECU and TCU Tune done from Seidt Performance from Stuttgart. So the gain would be more than on a OEM CLS 500 with 7G.
No Springs no lifter where changed, only the cams and some seals.

Are you talking about the valve cover gaskets?
I used Victor Reinz Part number VS50442 when I swapped the lifter out, got them on amazon for about $30 for the set.
Yeah I am excited for the swap, that along with CAI, mechanical fan delete and finally fixing the lifter should make the engine a little more responsive and sporty.
If you look under the fitment section it lists all the cars those will fit, W209 CLK55 being one of them. FCP Euro seems pretty good with their part numbers and fitment, but you could always call a dealership to confirm part numbers. Should need 24.
