Sunny day in San Diego...pics

Got bored and took some clean pics today. Don't know where you are at today, but the weather here is great! Had the E a year now, just turned 24,000 miles, and all is well. Hope you all are enjoying yours as much as me...

This is what the wheel gap should look like...too bad MB can't do this from the factory...

A couple of exhaust pics ....

Question

24,000 miles in a year; how did you accumulate so many miles?

Love your grill. Is that the one from Performance Products? Any problems with the install?

Actually this is low for me. I commute from San Diego to Orange County/LA everyday, about 150-175 miles RT. I was putting 48,000 a year on my 540, but since I bought the E, I have been using my wife's car and sometimes my son's car 2 or 3 days a week.

It is basically a homemade system. Used Magnaflow exhausts and tips, and then had a good friend who does exhaust work put it on. Parts were around $400 and the labor was $100...MUCH less than any of the pre-fab, AMG, Remus, etc. systems, and the same performance, sound, etc. It's not too loud at all, just right. Here is another pic from further back....

Yea, that's it. No more than a fifteen minute install...for the grille and the removal of the hood ornament..

ever consider having a bodyshop cut out slots in your rear bumper ala amg and have the exhausts recess into it? i think it would look hot and a lot cleaner.

BTW hot car

You think I can get the same deal? I live in OC and would love a new exhaust put in but don't feel like experimenting.

Let me know thanks.

I am sure you can. Call Dominic at Santa Margarita Muffler at (949)454-9944. He is on Lake Forest out toward the 241. He is a good guy. Tell him Brian referred you, and you want the same Magnaflow setup as I got on my E500.

Someone else asked if I could have cut out the rear valance and tucked the tips under more. I am sure he could have done this. I have seen other work where he has done similar. Good luck.

Lookin' good, nice mods to your ride. Do you know what Magnaflow series mufflers he put on your car? How loud is it and does it drone in your car?

Here are the parts...the part numbers are 11376 for the mufflers and 35167 for the tips. There are other tips that would work, but these are the ones I used. Total cost is around $400 for the parts...not bad for a really great system. I highly recommend.
