* Urgent * Need help with Motor replacement
Alright guys, I need some advice since things I heard wasn't clear. I have a 07 E350 with only 69k on it and now the motor is hydrolocked ( no water gets in the car at all). I didn't have full coverage insurance that cover this so basically have to pay out of pocket. I have found some motors online through LKQ for around 2800 with 6-month warranty and found a guy that willing to do it for $1000 so basically I will be spending around $4000 to put a motor in.
* Now with the motor replacement is it hard to do ? isn't there is something that need to be reprogrammed by using a "mercedes benz tech computer ? "
* Should I just sell the car as is at an auction and take a loss and not having to deal with the headache ?
* Please help

If you can sell it at auction and get couple of grands, I would stay away from headaches.
How much is the car worth with good engine?

I'm really leaning toward selling it at the auction and be done with it. The car should worth around 12-14000 IF we can fix it right
*This guy that willing to fix it is a master tech at a local Toyota dealership so...yeah

Hard to find low mileage on ebay, but in USA you can have 2007 E350 for $6-8,000

Now speaking of putting a new engine in it. Getting it in shouldn't be a problem but I'm wondering if anything on the electronic side has to be readjust since it's an engine from a whole another car ? like ECU unit or something that requires reprogrammed from Mercedes ?

Swapping digitally controlled engine opens whole can of worms.
Make sure you take all the computers with new engine.
Not too many owners attempt it for those reasons, so don't expect much of DIY experience.
We do have some dealer's technicians posting here, so maybe they will shed more light.

I'm reading alot of bogus in this joint but I won't point any fingers....
However, no, replacing a non front wheel drive V6 engine in a massive engine bay is a 3 out of 10 of difficulty. How many miles are on this new motor?
