The capacity of steering fluid for replacing 04 W211 E320

Given my 2004 W211 E320 having noise when low RPM, do a couple visual, and hearing check then realized it is caused by the empty steering fluid, doing a visual check, the visible leakages of steering rack are seen on both sides. I tried to refill the approved steering fluid, then it is drained about a week long. It seems to replace the power steering rack is the only solution to fix this problem.

Besides the power steering rack itself, I am also preparing the adequate capacity of steering fluid, can somebody kindly advise the proper capacity of steering fluid for replacing the power steering rack of 04 W211 E320? Thanks.

Thanks, Plutoe. Is 1.1L coming from MB document? I cross check this topic per http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...ments_Bookmark , however, they said 6-7L could cover the replacement and a brief flush. Could you please kindly double confirm prior to I replace the power steering rack? Highly appreciated.

Thank you, Plutoe and konigstiger, I believe you are right, I'm going to replace my steering rack in coming a few days, and I would let you know, how much it is.

It's confirmed the steering fluid capacity is about 1lite after I change the steering rack a few days ago.
