weird noise....idk where from...welp!

so it might be a little hard to explain cuz i can't really check where i have the problem

when im in say 4th gear and the rpm is pretty low, sitting right above 1k, where if u lower speed a bit more it's gona downshift or gas it a little hard it's also going to downshift...but give it soft touch on gas and slowly speed up so it doesn't downshift....when i give that soft touch on gas and speed up slowly, i almost every time hear a noise in front maybe engine? transmission? idk where like a marble or a piece of metal being tossed around

that ONLY happens when the rpm is low and give it a soft touch on gas. It doesn't happen if the rpm is higher than 2k.

a way to imagine this is like put a marble in blender n run it, it's kinda sounds like that.

I don't have any check engine or any kind of lights/warning popping up or any other issue. But i do have the screen saying ADD 1 QUART ON NEXT REFUELING, other than that there is no issues.

I will be taking it to a shop sometime next week but any ideas what could be wrong?

engine? transmission? or maybe idk the belt?

if your oil level is incorrect or low you will hear valves tapping or you chain maybe hitting something. set correct oil level and re-check.

i can kinda agree that what you said sounds to be true based on the noise i hear.

But how do i check the oil levels? I know you tap the RESET button 3x and oil options come up but i don't know how to read it lol

and btw, did u mean engine oil or transmission oil?

i kinda don't think it's due to engine oil level. the oil level is sufficient enough, added last weekend.

its 3.5L NA. a Base Sedan. 2006.

and...
CORRECTION....

I was a little confused on the noise. I tried to get to hear the noise again, It's actually NOT when i give light acceleration...it's when i kinda floor it. Lol. I know its the opposite of what i said earlier but i tried it few days ago, it's definitely when i floor it. When i floor it, just right before it picks up and throws the head back...the noise comes.

Doesn't happen all the time. I couldn't get the noise when i had the mechanic take a look so he don't know.

Could it a some sort of chain in there somewhere in engine or transmission slipping...or, this just popped in my head rn while typing, when i floor it, as gear downshifts while being in auto mode, it's the chains in transmission making the noise? Because when i use the "manual" gearing, i don't hear it, or could it be the rpm is a bit high and the engine sound doesn't let me hear that noise I'm talking about?

i hope this makes sense to someone lol this is making me confused

You can see what the oil level is if you go to km/h / mp/h or the temperature and tap the reset 3 times. Then you go to the page with oil level at the bottom. then set your key to 2nd position and the amount of oil should be on the screen.

If you do not have dipstick. But I guess it¨s the same as pre face lift with no dip stick?

pre face lift has dipstick...It was kinda low so added enough oil just below the max line now.
maybe the E500 doesn't come with dipstick?

oil levels are sufficient, still no explanation of the noise i hear.

What you are hearing right before WOT is either a coil dropping out and or poor gas quality. My 550 does the same thing. Pretty sure i have a coil dropping out so i'll replace all eight since, when I look at smooth engine running everything is within
spec. No way is it poor gas but it's possible because sometimes like a dummy I wait till the last minute to get gas. However i do know the noise you are talking about. It is very intermittent and only happens on heavy accel...

what do you mean by "coil dropping out" ? you mean the springs?

on the gas part, i always get premium but from Costco tho. However, once awhile i get pretty low on gas, maybe a gallon left till i reach to costco nearest to my house. Usually i fill up when theres a quarter left.

I mean i don't see any other problem. If it was major issue in engine, a light must've popped up by now.
