I am not sure if anyone has posted this, but paint code 753- Tectite Grey will be replaced for MY05. They are introducing a new color called Flint Grey and the color code will be 368. So, if anyone wants to get Tectite, I would suggest they do so quickly!!

damn!! I love that color, I want to be able to get an E next year and that was the color I wanted cause there was no extra charge lol. I like lionheads sooo much I wanted to order the same thing but leave it stock.

I thought all metallic color paints (including Tectite Grey) were extra charge? I'll bet that new shade of grey is a stunner though if it is similar to Tectite but with more metallic flakes as its name implies. The color I'd like to see offered across the board though is the highly metallic silver (code 777?) that came on the special edition SL's before the new model came out.
I understand on the 2005 ML Brilliant Silver is no more and will not be available on the new SLK. Perhaps Marcus Benz can confirm whether the new Iridium Silver (name in Great Britain) will be a replacement across the board for Brilliant Silver. Apparently it is a subtle difference but not sure how an Iridium Silver and Brilliant Silver car would compare side by side.

I have not seen the color in person as it is not available on any other car we make, but the MY05's should be out in late July to early August. I hope it is a more metallic version of Tectite and the color you are referring to is Silver Arrow (777).
The Iridium Silver will not available on the MY05 ML's. This was an early release that it would replace Brilliant Silver, but they have since changed their mind. In fact, from what I have heard, it will not be available on any MY05 cars!!!

Interesting. On the new SLK forum Felix at a dealership in Germany has posted some photos of the now available in Europe new SLK with Iridium Silver. My brochures for the new SLK in German and English both list only Iridium Silver (and no Brilliant Silver) for the new SLK. I assume the order data on Netstar should start showing color availability for the U.S. model SLK350 soon. Thanks in advance for keeping us posted.

Mark, sorry to be OT but i noticed you sold your 430 already? what are you driving in the mean time?
I wish the E would be offered in diamond silver like the SL.

was '03 E320 - now - '04 S4
Too bad about Tectite - it's a nice color. I guess we'll have to wait and see about it's replacement.
One of my pet peeves about the E320 is that metallic paint was ~$700 option. Full leather on my car was IIRC ~1400 and HIDs were an extra $1,100.
I think the E500s got leather and metallic paint @ no extra charge - I'm not 100% sure about that though...
Kind of a sad for a $50K car...

Actually the car is being trucked to the next happy owner on Friday and I will be driving one of Andy's cars in the meantime. He has an '04 C320 Sport Sedan w/6sp manual that I am going to drive as the person that the car was intended for is no longer in the picture! I don't know if I can hold out for 4 to 5 months, but with the current market for the CLK, I did not want to gamble with passing on the deal I made!
