I'd start by advertising in your local paper, auto-trader, cars.com, and ebaymotors, etc...personally, I wouldn't try to sell it to your dealer (I'm sure you already know that) and I wouldn't try selling it on this forum bcs all you'll get is insults about your price and low-ballers who aren't serious (what I've seen in almost every classified forum thread and from my own experience)... my .02, good luck

i'm still trying to determine what's a fair price. a used '03 equipped about the same is around 55k. and these will have around 8k, 10k or more miles. this is an '04 with 1500 miles.

in my favor, since it has very low mileage, i should be able to get around the same price up until i reach 8k.

Ebay might be worth a shot as well. The problem with selling a nearly new car of this value is that people are generally looking for a great deal on it or they will just buy a new one. Paying an extra $5k for a new one is a small price when one considers the risk associated with buying from a private owner. Even with low mileage, a car can be hiding a negative history.

Why are you selling already? Have you had a lot of service issues? How much are you asking and does it have navigation?

I sold my last three cars for more than dealer retail in less than a week for each. All I did was put signs in the windows and just drove around normally. It didn't take long to start getting calls.

i've been in an e500 for over a year now...this one was a replacement. i think i'm ready for a smaller car now.

i would like high 50's since you can get an '03 for low to mid 50's. yes, it has nav. compare the pkg names on my profile with mb's web site. the only service issue currently is that the cd changer doesn't remember the last track number after a restart. but there's a flash update for that...just haven't taken it in yet.

Sounds like a nice car, but a little out of my price range. I currently have a 540i and after reading about some of the service and quality issues, I may wait until the 05 comes out. FYI, I've been very successful selling cars at autotrader.com. I sold my Corvette and Chrysler Van inside a week a few years ago.

You might not be too far off on your pricing. The question is whether or not you can convince someone to fork over that kind of dough to a private. Very possible you can.

I too have had good luck with Autotrader.com but with lower end vehicles. Give it a shot but get your ads out there soon becuse when the 2005 hit, your car will probable lose another $5k almost immediately.

yeah...i think 57-58k is a great price of an '04 under 3k miles since it's loaded and still has that brand new smell.

bmw2mb, I am in the same boat as you, except I have 8500 miles on my car. What was the MSRP on your E500? Mine was between 66 and 67K, so I am looking to also get between mid to high 50s. So far I am in serious negotiation with one buyer after advertising on cars.com.

Hey! I still have the new car smell too!

Nope, I don't have Distronic and I don't have Keyless Go, or the Drive Dynamic Seats, but I think I have most everything else.

Here's the options List: (744/831) Brilliant Silver/Charcoal Leather (220) Parktronic (413) Panorama Sunroof (580) COMAND System with DVD Navigation (873) Heated Front Seats (051) Hands Free Communication System with VCS (Voice Activated) - Currently Verizon V60 Phone (320) Entertainment Package (Harmon Kardon stereo/6 CD Changer) (322) Appearance Package

Actually, my '03's MSRP was a bit higher--if you can believe it.
