Simple - remove your air box and spray some of this product down in there.

No, you do not have to remove it, but you SHOULD remove the elbow that connects your airbox to the MAF sensor. Otherwise the spray will flow down the elbow and not touch the heated wire in the CENTER of the MAF sensor. That is the part you are trying to clean!

Also, you might not have CRC products where you are. This might be more readily available:

Hope this helps.

Sorry, my mistake...the MAF sensor is at the top of the elbow, not down at the bottom, so yes, please do as Bahnstormer suggests, just remove the airbox and spray some cleaner in there.

Sorry for the confusion.

maybe is better to remove and clean it while seeing what you are cleaning ?
and to dont let go the residuals to the engine ?
like shown here

I always do it on removed sensor. To do good cleaning you need to really flood it, while you need to see what you are doing and you don't want all the stuff to run down the intake.
Sometimes removing 2 secure screws for sensor alone is easier than pulling the whole pipe.

and I have used electronic circuits cleaner, i had it already and I was thinking not to spend money if not necessary
it was not so dirty,
i didn't take a ride to see after what happens, i just started the engine 2 hours later to see if it was ok
after a ride i will update you

Old discussion but does anybody know the p/n for the small metal net on top of the MAF adapter (sits on top of plastic tube)? Is that possible to find it separately? Mine got broken, not sure if it does anything at all but wanted to see if I can get a replacement for that thing. Thank you in advance!

Thank you konigstiger, I guess I will leave it alone for now albeit this part is not expensive. Would there be any harm to the engine? There are two other screens along the way, I'd think most of the debris coming through the air intake would be caught off, right? Trying to google this thing but I get only "positive" feedback from car-mods enthusiasts about throttle response improvement. Some even claim hp gain!. Sounds like I accidentally found a golden mine!
