Glove Box Removal? (USB power install for Bluetooth)

Greetings all. Just bought this spring a 2009 E350 that I absolutely love but one thing I've been tinkering with is getting bluetooth audio to work without paying through the nose for the OEM kit.

I've managed a working system with a USB bluetooth receiver that sends audio to the aux cable which came with the car.

HOWEVER, the only way I can get the USB bluetooth receiver power is through the cigarette lighter under the stereo. So despite having a good bluetooth, it's hardly clean looking. So what I want to do is install a small USB power outlet inside the glove box.

I figure once I get the box out I can cut a small hole for the USB outlet and hook into power pretty easily, meaning I'll have all of it contained within the glove box.

SO what I can't find though is HOW to get the glovebox out. Does anyone have instructions to remove the glovebox?

Thanks everyone

Here's a thread on removing the glove box. If you could a youtube for others to see, that would be great!

Sorry for incorrect thread! Actually it's real easy to remove it, once you have it opened, there are a few screws to remove, disconnect light attachment, release mechanism allowing box to gently open. There are a couple of hinges holding it to lower dash, you just slide 2 plastic studs thru hinges which allows the whole thing to drop. I did this some 4 years ago without having any directions. I think you should be able to see it all there!

Do you have to remove the locking mechanism too?

+2.

This is the exact one I have:
Amazon Amazon

Works perfect. Sync's with my android phone. With my wife's iphone it displays the song/title/artist on the car's center cluster display. With my android it doesn't do that.

The steering wheel controls also work with changing songs.

OK I've decided to try the puck idea. Too much possibility of screwing up trim and too much work to get this to work for me.

I'll just use the other sender for my wifes van now.

I've got a 2006 E320CDI that I am installing a USB port in the glovebox.

I made a pigtail that connects between the cigarette lighter harness and the cigarette lighter so that I can take power off of it without splicing into the original harness.
I've got that done and the ashtray back in. I have 12V at the cigarette receptacle and at the end of the new pigtail that I fished behind the glovebox. So far, so good on the power.
I also have cut out the opening for the usb port in the glovebox and made sure it fit properly. Unfortunately, I messed up a little of the flocking with my Dremel when I cut it out so I am waiting for a flocking kit from the UK.
I have located the spot I am going to install the 12V to 5V converter to be sure the USB port gets the right power.
My goal is to have it all look like it was done by the factory and provide a Bluetooth solution all contained in the glovebox that takes up minimal room and gets me what I want.

I'll post pics once I am done.
