Do i need a new valve body or a new transmission?
Hello, i have a 2006 CLS500 i post here because it share almos all with an w211 E500, long story short, since i bought the car at 28000 miles it has been slipping 5th to 6th and 6th to 7th, most oftenly the last gears it flares. The rpms jump around 100 to 200 rpms almost imperceptible just the sound for the muffler delete, right now im at 52000 miles and still doing the same may be a little more frecuently but not bad really. It seems to be related to speed(pressure) because lets say the 6-7 change if it occurs at 50-56 mph it will flare, but if i press a little bit more the accelerator pushing it to 57-60 mph or more it wil change good. No check engine on.

Have you tried the transmission reset? I doubt it will work, but you never know. Here are the directions:
Just Put the key in ignition, turn to pos 2, floor pedal for 5 to 20 seconds (nobody really knows who long it really takes), turn key back to off, leave it in the ignition though, then release gas pedal, wait until your cluster goes off (that's when your CAN-B CAN-Bus shuts down) and remove the key. Lock the car if you want or need to so you can go back inside the house.

Well i took the car at 41k miles at an independent euro shop and they checked the fluid extracting a litte of fluid, and they said that it was good and they were reluctant to touch the transmission, they said that the oil change should be at 70 not 40k so they didnt want to change it, and about the reset ive tried already it feels good but the flare stills in there, the dealer say ''drive faster'' to avoid the flare.

Good luck man, I'm pretty sure it's a known issue for some 06-07 model year cars. I had an issue where shifting from 2nd to 3rd causes a jerk and dealer was unable to figure it out. They performed shift adaptations, replaced transmission fluid, and still could not solve the issue. My independent shop knew right away it was the valve body. I eventually ended up forking $1900 to get it done. Shifting issue disappeared immediately.
I hope you don't run into the same issue I did.

A week ago where i live was flooded and while driving i crossed dip with water, it was just like 10 inch deep maybe a foot but since then i feel weird the transmission more slippage on gears where there was no slippage or jolt, is so sad how mercedes built this ****ty transmission, my e500 and cl600 transmissions never gave me a single problem even with 200k miles on the e500 and 120k miles on cl600

My car has now 4 days on dealer on inspection, and they have not found nothing wrong, they say that the computer its not showing any code, and the technician drove the car twice and have not found any problem he said that the jerk or slippage that i feel and the rpms jumping a little its the normal behavior of the torque convertor lock up, he also said that he will remove the oil pan to do a visual inspection and look for debris on oil, he said if any real slippage occurs the transmission will go on limp mode imediately and store a code, and that have never ocurred before. BTW they said that the oil was a little high.

Have the mechanics dried out the plug connector at the transmission and applied contact cleaner?

I took my car to the dealer in El Paso Tx they check the car and no codes were found, so they said that the valve body was working properly so they removed the old oil and filter and the transmission oil pan and they found just clean oil no shavings no metal, no burnt oil, everithing good, so they just performed an oil change, the flare still exist but is less noticiable, they said that this flare is normal, for this transmissions, because its the torque converter lock up engaging and disengaging, but flare still exist
