SBC AND PART NUMBER and compatibility
Hello forum,
I am the owner of an 2005 E320 CDI. I love my car, but my cruise control doesn't work. Originally the problem was thought to be a wheel speed sensor, but after some troubleshooting, it was determined that it is the SBC ABS pump.
the part number on my SBC ABS pump is a0054313312. I have looked on sites like eBay to find a part with this part number. I am not afraid of purchasing one of these used as long as it has a return policy. I recently purchased one on eBay only to find that it was giving me a code for a pressure accumulator.
fortunately, part of the terms of the eBay sell was a 30-day warranty.
now, I have gone back to eBay and can't find another unit like this one with the same part number. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if any of the other SBC ABS pumps can be used on my car and are compatible.

Many, many thanks. Ordered one on eBay this morning.
I have the iCarsoft MB scanner. It has the capability of disabling the SBC in order to work on the brake system.
Other than 1)disabling the SBC, 2) removing the SBC, 3)replacing the SBC, 4)bleed brakes at each wheel, 5)reactivating the SBC,..... Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks for the attachment. My SBC has the following P/N 265 250 062 & A 004 431 99 12. From the top screen shot it would appear that there are numerous Robert Bosch EHB replacement options. We have a Mercedes w211 wagon from late 2003 and we are getting alerts about the SBC 0 265 250 062. We would like to get any info on the replacement EHB ) 0 986 483 003.
Thanks in advance Bill

Awie,
There was a recall that came out for.the w211 brake system. Covered under the recall was the SBC, brake calipers, and a few other components. I I threw the letter away after I contacted Mercedes-.
After replacing the ABS SBC pump on my car, I still continue to have the same problem. Months later, I took it to Mercedes-Benz and had them diagnose it under warranty. The problem was with a magnetic ring that goes on the axle that the wheel speed sensor picks up on. But, it may be worth it to you to find out about the extended warranty on the w211 brake system. It may not cost you anything to have it repaired.
I received the recall, extended warranty letter in the mail from Mercedes sometime around January this year.

SBC problem
Hello people!
I have problem with my SBC on my MB w211 e400 cdi.
My dashboard glows red and says there is no pressure in the brakes. The SBC pump is running but the pedal is soft. I searched on ebay but did not find the same number. Someone could tell me what other number is for my car.
My VIN is WDB2110281A615482
My part number is O 265 250 082 / A005 431 50 12 02
Thanks.

Australian Ripoff - SBC W211
Hello Guru’s, newbies and fellow humans,
Bought my second MB a few days ago, with the Red Ring of Brake hell, E0.stuck in Park, lots of beeping, begins with E1.Reduced Braking Power, Start Engine, then quickly proceeds to E2.Reduced Braking Power depress brake pedal fully. I’ve read several threads, and forums and articles and YouTube videos etc. after which I did the following.
Replaced aux battery (it was complaining about the aux battery, and I thought it might be related to the SBC Issue.). The Aux battery complaint is gone, does however now claim Convenience Functions Temporarily Unavailable.
Replaced the brake light switch
no Change still has E0, E1 and E2
I tried an icarsoft MB 2 scanner on the vehicle, and it could connect and scan the car, but could not connect to the SBC/ABS (the iCarSoft unit didn’t say SBC anywhere, only offered ABS)
At this point I’m assuming SBC Unit failure OR just counter reset (doubtful as the iCarsoft couldn’t connect to the system to deactivate it.)
It also seems to me that there are 3 variants of the SBC modules, one that covers a single group of cars, another that covers two( but different two than the first one), and yet another that covers all 3 groups.
local MB Dealer wants $4995 for SBC replacement part (part only) hence the subject, I could get the existing one shipped and rebuilt for $2500, there was another option to buy a new one from a local supplier for $899 or close to that (this is what I did) I am however not doubting that the Unit will work in my car after I found out about the 3 versions... Even though the vendor said it would work... Found a local MB Indy who quoted $3k for part and labour, which dropped to $500 for labour only if I supplied the part. I had the vehicle towed to him. He hasn’t started work on the car and didn’t seem to want to help really, also is busy until late May so may not be able to do anything in the next few weeks.
with that as background I would appreciate some help and guidance from you fine humans.
1. I think I should get the car towed to my house, I don’t think the Indy needs my business and don’t think he will be flexible enough.
2. Thinking of buying a clone MB C4 or C5 OR The Autel MaxiService EBS301
3. Want to remove the SBC unit, following all the safety precautions and guidance I’ve collected.
4. Remove the pump from the unit and have a look at the Pump Brushes and replace them if they are worn out. (See if this fixed the issues after MB Star SBC reset)
5. Replace the Brake Fluid Pressure Accumulator in the existing SBC (See if this fixed the issues after MB Star SBC reset)
I would appreciate any and all advise, guidance, smack downs and general abuse as long as it helps me get this fixed. I have also joined the local MB Club, but my membership number for access to EPC hasn’t come through yet. I don’t have the car with me so the only information I have is the VIN Number.
Kind Regards,
notthew211

I need to replace the SBC unit but the label is scrapped off. Can anyone tell me which OEM part numbers are compatible, I see there are quite a few potential pumps and don't want to buy the wrong one.
