Buy Arnott Shocks from AutohausAZ or directlt from Arnott??

Im looking to buy a rebuilt front left airshock for my 2007 E63 Arnott part #AI-2113205338 from AutohausAZ.com for $565 . Just to check I went over to the Arnott website and they are selling the same shock for $675.

This doesn't make any sense.

Has anyone had experience buying these shocks from either vendor and some experience to chime in ??

I know the COMMON marketing is not making logic sense, but that is how it works for generations.
Years ago, living close to Red Lane warehouse, I went there to buy some oils over the counter.
Turn would I save 20 miles of driving, my local parts store had much better pricing on the same stuff.
Autohousaz is long-lasting and very reputable supplier. They ship the same day if your order before noon and in California I was getting the stuff in 2 days.
Too bad they still don't carry stuff for my W212.
Buy with them and don't look back.

I've spent thousands with AutohausAZ over the years. They're a legit company with good service and prices. They're usually the first place I check if I need to buy a part.

edit: Autohaus regularly has prices that are cheaper than the wholesale prices my friend's shop gets. The big difference is they get parts from their supplier that same day while ordering online would take several days at least.

Different priceing = Different warranty

I gained a little more understanding today why I can buy the Arnott shocks cheaper at autohausaz.com vs. directly from Arnott.

If you look at the Arnott site under warranty info they describe the difference.
If you buy direct from Arnott you get a "Limited Lifetime Warranty and if you buy their product from a "Online Vendor" you only get a maximum 2 year warranty.
autohausaz sells the "New" style Arnott for $565 while that same shock direct from Arnott is $675
So your paying $110 more if you feel the value of haveing the better warranty.

Bought a set of air springs, for the self leveling rear suspension for my E350 wagon directly from Arnott. Happy with the price at the time, almost 2 years ago, but there was not significant delta for those and the lifetime warranty is a nice peace of mind. Just my $0.02.

Arnott only lists a part's Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) while both online and retail resellers will typically advertise a discounted price. But it is the same part. The warranty should be the same Limited Lifetime Warranty in North America regardless of where you buy it but you'll want to check with the reseller to make sure. A couple of deep discounters offer a 'universal' warranty on everything they sell which may be shorter or longer than the manufacturers warranty. This may be for convenience or marketing reasons or maybe that is one of the ways they can discount the price. Since we have resellers handle all warranty claims - please check with your reseller on their warranty policy.

Side question.
Auto parts re-sellers come and go and I remember only autohousaz being here for long time.
How Arnott honor the warranty when the reseller is no longer in existence?

Just as long as you have the receipt from the reseller there will be no problem. Arnott will honor the warranty.

FWIW, I paid full price for a set of front air springs from Arnott back in October of 2015. Last week (June 2018) they sent me a replacement sensor coil harness for free. I was getting a non-clearable error of "open circuit" on the air spring valves. I thought I would have to ship the air spring back for repair but their tech called me, explained what the problem most likely was, and then shipped me the replacement harness which took me about 30 minutes to install. No hassle, no fuss. Just good customer service.

I bought mine direct with a military discount. The kind folks at Arnott were an absolute pleasure to deal with. I would suggest giving them a call...at least.

+1 on the Arnott service. They have never been anything less than wonderful when I've called for warranty replacements. Mine always seem to fail at the fold as well. I may be calling them again soon. Left front was drooping the other morning although no soap bubbles were obvious when I raised it up to the elevated position and sprayed soapy water on the bladder. I'll jack it up and recheck in the next few days.

All Arnott products will come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty in North America regardless of where you buy them. (the limitation is mainly "for as long as you own the car"). BUT you should check with the online reseller first (ask, "Do you honer Arnott's warranty") since some may offer a standard warranty on ALL items they sell which may be (is) less of a warranty than Arnott offers. They might do this to save money since manufacturers make you call the reseller for warranty issues who then has to call the manufacturer.

The reason why Arnott prices are higher than most resellers is that we list our products at MSRP (Retail) so we don't compete with them. Some customers still prefer to deal with us because of part availability, service, tech support, we offer installer discounts, etc.
