Sirius Trouble (retrofit W211)

Okay I have read as many posts as I could find on this subject and thought I had the answer, but I don't! Original equipment 2005 E55 with Comand and no Sirius system. Sirius control module A169 827 0162 control unit was retrofitted successfully (and easily I might add) into the system several years ago and still functions. However as some of you already know, this unit is outdated and won't receive quite a few new Sirius channels. After doing forum research I was confident that swapping to updated module A211 870 6790 would get more channels. However, I have now put in my second A211 870 6790 and they both have exhibited the same problem, Sirius can't get them to activate. Both units display, with sound the introductory channel,184, and the unit's ESN. After numerous attempts with both units Sirius can not get them to activate. I have pulled fuses, changed antennas, etc. Is it possible that the units were actually activated but something in the Comand is not recognizing it? Or could I have found two units that were just no good from ebay? I'm stretching for answers!
I know someone out there knows what to do, I'll just wait here.

Try this, request SIRIUS enter your EIN into a "protected tier" in their computer system so that when they tell their system to send all channels, radio (head unit) does not lock up attempting to accept more channels then it is designed to hold: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...#ixzz3f2r9f5Xa

Question....can the Sirius control module A211 870 6790 be added to any HK system? I don't have NAV or sat radio currently. How would I know if this would work on my 04 E500?

Vehicle should be pre-wired. Note linked instructions show two leads for antenna since 6790 has one antenna connection use aftermarket antenna (one lead), mount it under rear shelf in trunk if you rather not drill hole: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...6vDrUi0eNxgVzd

Thank you konigstiger. I have mentioned the "protected tier" to the vegetable techs when trying to activate. However I am quite sure I haven't gone high enough up the ladder to find someone who is will to accept customer suggestions. That will be my next step.

Thank you so much konigstiger.

Is this something I can order used from Ebay and simply plug in? The instructions loose me at the section .......E. Install fiber optic cable and configure MOST ring
It seems to just jump to that step without telling you where that is located. They mention installing this from a kit. Is the kit required?

Need to incorporate module into MOST loop. Area in question is located under forward trunk panel in addition, someone with MB DAS will have to code module into MOST.

Trying to add SDARS to my 2005 E320 that's prewired. Just wondering if there is a more updated SDARS than the A211 870 6790 that might not have this problem, or if this problem has been resolved fully by now? Thanks!

If you’re referring to SiriusXM channels problem is not with receiver but rather COMAND head unit (radio) incapable of processing additional channels.

I had the channel quantity issue when I retrofitted SDAR in my 05 e320. The only subscription that worked was the 60 channel music plan. Is there any firmware update for the head unit or is this a case of obsolete technology?

As it concerns 211 only 2008-2009 head units are capable of being upgraded, see attached bulletin.

Konigstiger,
can the Comand NTG.5 receive and display the additional Sirius channels?
