Ordered my LED tail yesterday

Through help of my sales. I was able to get a pair for about $320 from my dealer in the bay area. Which is about $240 cheaper than pretty much every dealer here in the bay area wants. I have to pull some string to get it. I will post a picture when the E500 is upgraded with LED tail.

You've got to be kidding me... I thought the taillamps are $320 list for a pair?

E-mail me the part numbers and I will look them up, although I just looked them up from memory and they were $160 each.

No, I am not kidding. Every dealer i called in bay area gave me price of $249 to $289 each. I had my sales to buy the parts for me. $160 per light, which is about $20 more than the post of $140 in this forum. I did not know where the light would be listed for $160 each.

fixedupw209- that totally skipped my mind. I should have just swap out the light.

well it's too late, the lights will be here tomorrow.

I picked up my light yesterday. The price was $140 each plus tax. Total came out to $313.93. Not bad.

Install was straight forward. Less than 10 minutes. Everything is plug n' play.

Now, just need to wait for steve on the euro command swap.

Do the LED taillights have any functional advantages compared to the ones that come with the car, or are they just bling? I imagine they last longer than the bulbs, but you can buy a lot of bulbs for $300+.

You can buy a lot of bulbs for $300+, but you can't put them in your W211 E-class. If you don't know what I mean, check your owner's manual about replacing taillight bulbs...

yeap, $140 a each. What he told me over the phone was $320 per pair, I just assumed it was price for the light. What my sales meant was that including tax it's about $320.

So I got pretty good deal out of it.

On the side note, I had no idea who assembled my car. The worker must be pissed or something. The 3 screws that hold the small tank on the right hand side was so tight, I actually spend most of my time unscrewing it.

I was kind suprised that to replace regular tailight the whole assembly needs to be changed. I know LED should be a single piece design that is attached to the housing (like E46 which I upgraded). I just find it strange that to replace regulart tail light bulbs the whole rear lights including the housing need to be replaced.

As Steve and I would say... Hans was working that day on your car.

Take the factory tour sometime... you'll know what we mean.

Does that mean $280 per pair plus sales tax = $320. That would be about 14% in sales tax - Ouch!! Is that how high it is in California now?

I will stop at stuggart to take a factory tour. But I wonder if they will they me go if i showed up in the M5.

They probably think that I am or needs .

My luck with german car has always been bad. When I was adding bluetooth phone to my M3. One of the plug that is suppose to be next to the cd changer above the rear wheel was actually embedded all the way behind the seat. That was also pain in the behind to get to.
