Having trouble finding e320 4matic struts and axles!

Both my front axles and struts need replacing on my 2005 E320 4matic and the mechanic has bought THREE different struts that were listed online to fit my car, but he told me none of them fit.

He says that the only ones that can fit are ones for an ML320, or the genuine Mercedes Benz parts that cost a fortune. Is this true?

can someone please link me some parts that should fit? Thank you.

I just went through this on my car. Rockauto sells two left cv axles, one is new and the other is a reman. If you get a replacement axle, try the reman one. I tried the new one and it created a vibration. I just got the boot kit from MB and replaced the boot on the original axle and replaced it. The boot kit is less than $40. For the right, rockauto doesn't carry it, but there are some aftermarket ones on eBay. Not sure if any of them are any good though and if they're new, you might run into the same vibration problem I had.

What's a good spring compressor to use on the struts?

What is the country of manufacture on the new one that caused a vibration?

More than likely China. As most "new" axles are these days. At least ones other than genuine MB.

Who knows, it was a Cardone which rockauto stocks. I figured a new one should be the same, but I guessed wrong. The reman one is actually more than a new one and also has a core charge. But that's probably the way to go.

I found this on eBay, not sure if I should go ahead with a used part though. What do you think?

Technically as long as the boots are intact the axle should last forever. Once the boot rips and the grease leaks out, then the axle is toast. I'd save the old axle just in case it can be rebuilt with just a new boot kit. I just happened to notice mine was ripped and it wasn't making any noise yet so it was ok to just throw on the boot kit.
