I was in stop and go traffic last weekend and was rear ended at a slow rate of speed. The other drivers insurance is being more than a pain and I am considering just selling the car as it is. I have never been in this situation before and am unsure of the best way to evaluate the value of a car with collision damage. If any of you have sold a vehicle before that is in need of body repairs what route did you take? My car was as close to perfect as you could get before last Friday. It still runs and drive perfectly.

Its not what you can see, its what you cant see thats the problem, Because the bumpers are designed to take small impact and bounce back into shape, its quite deceptive, most people will only see the bumper and the dent on the boot and think its an easy fix, I can Guarantee that the bumper reinforcement has been damaged which in-turn has pushed the beaver panel in, Just from what I can see in the picture your left tail light seems to be under the lip of the boot lid, this is a good indication that it was hit more to the left so that is where most of the damage is.
On closer inspection is that a dent in the left rear 1/4 panel, if so it has damaged the chassis rail.
I have always worked on if a good car is worth $10,000, a damaged one is only worth a third of that no mater the damage, I would persist with the insurance company and have it repaired.

I'm curious to know why you are talking about selling the vehicle. Do you have collision insurance? File a claim with your insurance company. Your insurance company will do what's necessary to collect compensation from the other driver's insurance company.
Thanks for the suggestions. I am considering selling the vehicle as is because it was a commercial truck that hit me and their insurance has made me an offer that is good enough for me to consider buying a replacement instead of having this one repaired. Just weighing my options.

Get a lawyer, and let him deal with the details! Who knows the firm may upgrade you to a W212 or a w215/216! Just my opinion

The fact that you're on this thread and have conflicting feelings (although the advice you're getting is pretty consistent), confirms that you shouldn't accept a dime or make any written statement of note to the insurance company without a lawyer. The only settlement you should accept on your own is a used E63s sedan with magno paint and similar miles, and you give your damaged car to them. Start looking and bring them the replacement to make the deal.
The repair (and REP\AINTING) process is fraught with problems. Ugh.
Does the trunk latch still work properly?
Does the trunk open and close freely?
Make sure all the windows open and close without binding(including any sun/moon roof tracks.
