Arrow Lane change turn signal flashes: Can it be changed?

More of a general question. By default like most cars when you tap the turn signal stalk it blinks the turn signal 3 times. Is it possible to change so that it blinks more than 3? I ask only because on my wife's Lexus, I was able to use Techstream (think Toyota's version of STAR/DAS) to change the 3 default blinks to 4. I find that 3 seems to not be enough to let people know around here that I am changing lanes and 4-5 seems like the happy number, without getting flashed/flicked off.

Just wondered if this was possible to change in STAR?

Thanks,
-Nigel

It's few years old thread but I was just searching for this subject and found out I'm not alone with this question!

Did you or anyone else find out anything more whether the number of blinks can be adjusted in W211?

(I was able to do it easily in year 2010 VW Jetta)

I recall reading a thread a few years ago in here where someone got a Star system setup and did exactly what you are looking - he adjusted that to 5 blinks. For the record I'm 100% with you, 3 never feels like enough! I just tried search a little and couldn't find it though. I've always wanted to do that and turn off a few of the heads up display categories like phone and radio. I'm sure Benz Ninja can do it, but I know it would cost more than I'm willing to pay.

Don't think this works on a 09' w211. I just searched everywhere and could not find the settings in STAR at all.,

Did you try the Creader Elite? Probably a different interface and they say it works on the W212. Sounds like fun to play with but I don't need more than 3 flashes to switch lanes, I'm usually done by the 3rd flash. I don't use it for permission, I use it to tell people I'm doing it and I only do it when it's too late for them to close the gap and stop me from switching lanes.

all this assumes that there are coding options in the control module software that controls lane change and you can find that if you have Vediamo if not form a circle

Here in the Pacific Northwest most normal people are polite and will give you room to change lanes if you put turn signal on, but three blinks is not enough for that.
