Since the last post I have driven the e55 and had it looked at by a mechanic. It is in amazing shape with only 35k miles. The owner lowered his price to $15,500. It's black with 18 inch rims painted gunmetal. Has mods that put it up to 550hp. Intercooler, a tune and headers. Car is almost perfect around the body.
then Audi S6 with 48k miles. I have gotten the owner down to close to $10,000. Had a new intake manifold in 2014. Has had new strutts, control arms abd ball joints innthe front. Rotors are in good shape as are brembo brake pads. They just fixed the AC and they still need to fix the front left headlight bc of non swivel. The rear driver side light rear has condensation. It only had two other minor codes hit the scanner. Has 19 inch audi rims. Body in very good shape, but e55 better.
would make him do the following before I would buy the car:
1.verify the replacement intake manifold was a new updated version
2. Make him clean all the carbon. Have him fix the headlight
4. Have him fix ine ball joint that has a hole
5. Verify that the AC is fixed.
The Audi owner's son was a mechanic at the Audi Dealership and now has his own shop. So he would do the work.
which of these two cars would you buy with the 5 thousand dollar price difference being put into the equation?
The e55 is an American version
The S6 is a Euro version

Repair bills on the Audi are going to bleed you dry. The entire engine sits in front of the front axle. Understeer hell.
That is what I am worried about. I am in the Domincan Republic so the labor rate $35/hr. I guess I am trying to talk myself into this because he is willing to go so low. I have read the horror stories. Not sure if the low labor rates here outweigh it. The guy who was an Audi tech would be the one working on the S6 at $35/hr

Looks up "service position" for the S6. The way that car is put together even basic maintainance requires major diassembly. Need to swap out the serpentine belt or an idler pulley? Step 1: service position. Its just not a repair friendly car.
