So where are the real users here? What's your experience?
Just got the system and started working with Ninja a few weeks ago. My experience so far has been nothing short of FANTASTIC! I have a 20 year old SL500, so I was concerned that I wouldn’t benefit as much as I couldn’t take advantage of some of the fancy new features that can be coded into newer vehicles. WRONG!

Just today he updated some key modules for me and helped me to diagnose a Distronic issue I’ve been dealing with since I purchased the car a few years ago. That fix alone would have cost me more than the cost of the entire system if I had to take it to a dealer. He also helped me remove a few other annoyances that had been bugging me.

If you’re already an expert at this stuff, perhaps you can get away with something less. I’ll be the first to admit that I am not! But if you want a rock solid hassle free way to diagnose or modify your car - this is a great option! I am in the US and have also found him to be super quick to respond during his advertised availability (which is ample!).

Highly recommend you chat with him about his services prior to purchasing any other system. It may be the best way to get it right the very first time!

(NOTE: THESE COMMENTS ARE MY OWN, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN PAID NOR INCENTIVIZED IN ANY WAY!)

Huge new fan here! He's great to work with and loves new ideas. He developed 2 new mods after we talked about a few things I thought others might want as well.

Can't recommend him highly enough!

Hello Guys

newbie here with zero coding/tuning experience, besides hooking up my laptop and having others do coding remotely for me on my laptop which has Teamview.(always with BMWs never Mercedes)

i have been in contact with Benzninga once and i plan on using his services when my car arrives.

but can anyone tell me what it means to become a "member"? and what does it mean to "rent" the system. ?

does he actually have to mail equipment to you? or are you just "renting" his services?

and if you're someone who's just interested in getting a few functions done and don't necessarily have the desire to learn a new skill, can you still use his service?

Hi maybe you should try the website, everything is there and if you need more info fill out a form
you have FAQ's there for both options and a little robot on the right side of the page that explains

2016 S550
I'm not sure if this is the correct spot to leave a review, but I just wanted to share my positive experience working with BenzNinja.

I contacted Peter and decided I wanted to Own my own diagnostics module and laptop, that way I don't have the bother with renting/shipping out the device each time I may need diagnostics/coding, etc. I like to maintain my own cars and this was the best option for me.
After I've received everything, Peter promptly helped me set up the laptop while I went to work. Came back and the laptop was good to go. This past weekend, I was finally able to make time to hook up with Peter and get some codings done (For my w222 2016 S550)
I opted for a list of options that I was hoping to get done. A few weren't possible due to my car's hardware limitations. Anyways, I ended up getting ILS+ (recommended for everyone in the US to get this done if you have the means to), AMG engine data, unlocked Aux (wanted to test something with CarPlay, but ended not not working, oh well it was a cheap unlock), Climate Control off with fan speed buttons, fuel level in Gallons and not %, and maps updated. Everything went great and had a little chat over the phone with Peter. He's an outstanding guy and went working a little late just so he could finish up with my car. I really appreciate it!

This weekend I also had the pleasure of having the BenzNinja tweak a few things on my car. I used the "rent'' option, and it was very easy (for me).
Very pleased with the process and as everyone says, Peter is very easygoing, thorough and professional.
I had the car lowered 24mm (1 inch) and it looks and drives great!
Removed the "jerking'' in the steering wheel using active lane assist. (I despised that particular feature).
Updated the maps.

2016 S550 4Matic Coupe
Let me echo the many positive comments in this thread. This is my first Mercedes after a string of fine BMW V8 cars. I enjoyed coding for options and doing retrofits such as Night Vision in the BMWs. The local BMW Service Manager called me the guy who “puts things in these cars that they didn’t come with…”. My last few used ESYS. Coming over to my “new” S550 Coupe, I wanted to be able to examine my car’s modules in detail and change a few to suit. Yesterday I received my HDD from Peter and I installed in the laptop he advised me to find on eBay. Lenovo X230, etc…. He activated my install and let me know I was good to go. Having also obtained the VCI he recommended, I hooked all this up in my car and explored a bit on Xentry. Wow! What a robust suite of software tools all on one HDD. I joined the club and gave Peter my preferred email address for that, but I have yet to try and find or participate in the 2000+ member forum there. Not sure where to find them on the web but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. It’s probably a password-protected private site as it should be! I’d like to read a general overview of how one goes about diagnosing and coding these cars - much as you can find about using ESYS to code your BMWs. I don’t yet know what I can do and what I need to bother Peter with. This ought to be fun and intellectually stimulating for me.

Bad Experience

I was never able to work with Benzninja, I heard a lot of good reviews about him so contacted him a few weeks ago regarding the lifetime club. Once he heard one of my cars is a R129, he immediately started ignoring me entirely on gmail and whatsapp.

It's quite unfortunate, I have several Mercedes and do most of my own maintenance so having a STAR would've been a game changer. Luckily, I'm an engineer by trade so I'll probably pick up my own system and learn it on my own.

If this isn't service, idk what is. I've been a benzninja member for many years (probably one of the early adopters). I can tell you the service is as good if not better than it was day one. Today I messaged Benzninja at 2:19pm to update control modules. By 4:30pm all modules were updated. How's that for service 🤔

So is there some forum where BenzNinja clients/members "hang out"? I've paid up and I'm impatiently waiting for all the miscellaneous bits and pieces to arrive from various parts of the globe. I don't actually live in the arsehole of the world but its definitely a local call from here so everything takes time. I bought into the system thinking I was buying insurance. I come from the Ford world where we have Forscan but its more about diagnosis and enabling features that Ford put into the vehicle for their dealers to enable. I'm beginning to suspect BenzNinja is much more than that but I simply don't know what I don't know. Is there some place to hang out where I could listen and learn?

So can someone just break this down into simpleton terms?
Are you sent any sort of gear that you connect to your laptop and it is all remote access?

you have to buy the connecting gear ( he guides you on what and where to obtain it) then everything else is conducted remotely into your laptop connected to the car .
