Non air suspension help.. SOLVED
Hi guys,
Today car had developed a new problem, it was fine when i parked it at yesterday night. Car is e350 4matic non-air suspension. As you can see in the pictures, left rear shock seems shut. Do you think is that the reason or might it be something else? If it is, OEM shocks are really expensive so, i'm willing to go with aftermarket. So i'll have couple of questions;
1. Is this shock absorber same as A2113262800 which is the oem shock?
partsavatar.ca
2. If they are not the same, should i be changing rears, or all 4 of them?
3. Looks like OEM suspension has some kind of sensor in the pictures, would i need that?

If you post your VIN it would be clear which shock you need.
If your car has standard suspension, non airmatics, the height is controlled by the coil spring as far as I know. Shocks are not supposed to sustain weight, only to damp motion unless fully compressed .

Here is the datacard for your vehicle.
From what I understand, it is a 4matic with standard suspension, code 494 US version.
If you look at your rear suspension you should see spring coils. Here is a link to the mbepc listing the parts for your suspension

Rear spring is part # 2113240204 (color marking: 2 x blue/2 x yellow), shock shop OE part # 2113261500 should also pull compatible aftermarket.

I'll second the broken spring. Likely in the bottom mounting surface. Do both sides then get an alignment.
I just replaced all 4 springs in my '05- 3 broken over the summer. First time I've ever had to replace springs in any car/truck I've owned. I think they make them out of potato chips.
