Do you think 722.6 is smooth?
So my 75K mi E350 4Matic is super solid, I really like it.
But for the shifting, hmm. I had a 2012 S60 T5 with Aisin 6spd transmission, and It was solid and smooth (and lost a tremendous amount of HP too lol) so I can't notice it is shifting. Like continuously accelerating.
But for the 722.6, I can feel when the clutch is deactivated and activated during shifting. Usually, I can feel more gap time when I accelerate harder.
When I can feel that, It feels like I'm not accelerating at that moment when it's shifting.
When it gets warm and I accelerate lightly (like in city driving), it is pretty smooth so sometimes I can't feel the gap.
Also when in 2nd gear, it acts like it has two gears. RPM goes up and goes down at near 1300~2000RPM like it is shifting. It is not slipping since car acceleration is ok and I recently checked at the dealership.
It seems like an engaging lock-up clutch. It makes a more noticeable feeling when it's cold.
For additional info- I changed fluid at 71K.
I know 5 spd transmission has a longer gear ratio than 6 spd so I understand it is not smoother than aisin, but just wanna ask to users.
Do you guys also feel this? I never tried 7G-Tronic yet.

Did you also change the connector when you changed the fluid? That tends to wick up transmission fluid and you get weird shifting. Either that or it's time to do a transmission reset. Procedure is mentioned in several other threads. It tends to get lazy over time.

Was there any fluid on it? It's kinda standard to just change it when you change the transmission fluid. It's not easy to see the fluid.

I wouldn't expect the dealer to normally change it, but if I were to take the car to an indy and have them change the fluid, I'd buy the connector and have him change it as part of the fluid change. You get weird shifts when it starts to wick up transmission fluid. Otherwise worse stuff would be bad conductor plate, the connector is very cheap in comparison.

Currently, my transmission makes one big shock just one time when I'm in 2nd gear when it's cold.
after that no problem for the whole drive. that's is weird

Yes you get weird shifting when the car is cold and smooths out once it warms up. But once you change out the connector, it goes back to normal.

Put the car on Star and check the health of the transmission. You can pull the data for pressures fill times clutch pack and brake pack engagement times as well as additional data. As an example if it's taking more than 15 fill cycles to engage clutch pack that clutch pack is worn out and should be replaced. Star will literally walk you through it.
