PCV centrifugal bolt
I was trying to replace my cam plug and the pcv cover but I have a new centrifuge that goes on the passenger side back of the cam block, for the life of me, I am trying to get a socket sized to go in the bolt to get it off and no avail. I google, youtube all they saying it's a 1/4 inch socket, which doesn't grip, then they say it's a E8 torx and they don't give. SO i took my phone and took a pic to see what type of bolt it's a 6 pt hex bolt. So theres a lot of inconsistency with PPL on online saying different bolt sizes which were all incorrect info. Has anyone attempted to replace this part since I need to replace mind cuz mine was badly worn from years of age and mileage which my car is at 136k miles. Any advice since I am trying to get the bolt socket in and get it out!!!
If the bolt you see in your photo does not look like the one in the documentation posted in that thread, someone has been there before and it must have been changed. I would be surprised if it is not an E-Torx like many other ones in your vehicle.
I'm pretty sure it's an E8 Torx but more importantly it is REVERSE (LH) THREAD, so turn it right to loosen, left to tighten. You'll be working backwards as well so pay close attention!
Difficult to conclude from the resolution of the photo; however, it does not look like a typical E-Torx since it is missing the built-in washer/support surface.
It seems like a hex head which hints someone else has been there before , and likely lost it. Hopefully did not break it, nor glue-welded anything either.
Do you have the E8 socket for Torx? Let say someone damaged the head a bit, you may try adding something in the front of the E8 socket, and tap it lightly on top of the bolt until it feel tight, then unscrew it.
If it is not Torx anymore, It has to be either metric, or SAE. Do you have all metric from 6->11mm? and all SAE from 3/16->3/8 ? I cannot imagine which other size it can be. It is definitely clockwise to loose it viewing it as in the photo. Be patient when trying to lose it.

To replace an E8 (either M6 or M7 threaded bolt), someone needs a 10mm or 11mm hex-headed bolt.
