The new Acura TL has that, my friend's e60 545i just got software update and bluetooth phone works in those cars. I need this feature and I think MB must have this as well.

Ipolo,
Totally agree. Unfortunatelly, we don't have that and hopefully someone can help us retrofit this back to our car...
Thanks!

If M-B does studies of their customer base - and they surely do - they probably find that there is less general demand for Bluetooth and other leading-edge entertainment/communication functions than is the case with (say) Acura and BMW drivers. They deploy their R&D money accordingly. Keep in mind that the people in this forum aren't necessarily representative of the technical interest and expertise of M-B drivers in general. For one thing, we undoubtedly spend a lot more time on computers than does the typical Realtor® in an S or SL.

It should still be offered on a car this expensive and this caliber. How hard could it be to integrate an already exisiting technology that is not expensive into their overpriced phone system? They dont offer it becasue they no they dont need to in order to attract customers. With so many invoice and below deals going out the door on every C, CLK, E, S etc, which are their bread and butter cars, they will have to start to compete on the electronics end. Hopefully.. its annoying to pay 10K to 20K more than avg sedan and not have these things..

Bluetooth
I have been reading all these posts complaining about not having Bluetooth. I have bluetooth in two E320s, and I have a pristine 98 Toyota Supra....all have bluetooth as do our phones. Whats the big deal! I had the kits installed, and all have voice dial, etc. My phone stays in my pocket. I just changed phones from the V600 to a new Audiovox 5600...no problem.
Just get one of the many bluetooth adaptor kits, have it installed, and bingo...there you are....no fuss, no muss. And no antiquated and overly expensive phones.

BT is both good and bad.
Good...phone connects to multiple cars. You use your own phone. Car can support multiple phones simultaneoulsy.
Bad...Verizon, the major US carrier, isn't currently selling a BT phone (apparently withdrew the 710). Many implementations still require you to use the phone (i.e., on the Acura TL, you need to use the phone to enter voice menu entries, on the BMW, you need to twirl the wheel to do the same). And since the phone isn't connected, the phone battery drains.
My dealer says he expects MB to have a BT adapter in 12 months or so. And I understand a third party is working on one also.
Our biggest MB phone problem probably isn't BT, but the outrageous prices MB charges!!!

Hi,
I have a motorola kit in my two W211s, and a Sony kit in my Supra. All use the existing radio/speakers....all have voice dialing...all have radio cut off when the phone rings....all are answered from the Bluetooth controls, not the phone. I have used three different Motorola phones with all three, one Sony model, and now my new Audiovox. This isnt rocket science, and it is MUCH BETTER than the old technology, and TDMA phones sold by MB for huge profits.

The good thing about the MB systemis that it charges your phone, and it has a integrated antenna in the car.... not sure if bluetooth enabled cars have integrated antenna in the car 4 better reception...
