No E63 coupe? Serious?

Could it be true that MB doesn't plan to make E63 AMG coupe?
I was hoping to buy this in near future. What 2 door can I buy now for 100k that would have been comparable? No CLK AMG anymore.
SL63 way over 100k. Any suggestions?

Sure there will be one but it is coming later, 4Q in Europe (these are for the C207, not W212).
Copy paste from jesmb did not work, I'll attach a screen copy:

Weird that they would do a W212 AMG but not a C207.

They seem to have done one for each class above and including the C. There is even a R class AMG.

If they dont, won't they lose market share to the likes of Lorinser, Brabus etc?

Glad to see you confirming this. I was surprised that someone completely ignored my comment that it will be there later on, even if I had the reference.

It seems a little confusing to me... Wouldn't it be either a CSL 63 or CLK 63? The E-Class is a sedan, not a coupe.

Now there are two variants of the E-Class. The E-Class Sedan and E-Class coupe which is essentially the CLK replacement, although based on the E-Class platform unlike the CLK which was based on the C-platform.

I think that's how MB wants most consumers to believe but according to this article:

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/06/f...e-class-coupe/

"When GM of product management Bernhard Glaser was asked if the E Coupe rode on the same platform as the sedan or used the same architecture, he responded twice, "I wouldn't say that." Asked to make some sort of comparison between the two cars, he informed us, "I would say it's a member of the E Class family." As such it gets all of the E-Class safety doodads we mentioned yesterday, along with the same language and general proportions, but wrapped in a stance and attitude all its own."

I believe the new E coupe is still based on the C class but with even more styling/designs from the E sedan. The exterior is obvious and so is the dash but if you look at the center console (shifter & armrest), it is exactly the same as the C class. Plus the fact:

"Compared to the sedan, the Coupe is about seven inches shorter, four inches narrower and three-and-a-half inches lower."

If it walks like a duck....

What's in a name? Apparently, nothing. The new "E-coupe" will essentially be a 2-door version of the W204 C-Class (not that it's a bad thing), with E-class engine options. Some things don't change.

So do you have some factory internal info? I think he actually has some but the site would not exist if he posted something that MB has not released some way. Anyway the info was confirmed closer than you seem to realise (closer in two different meanings).

I don't have some factory internal info, but I usually prefer check many things I read, with some reliable authorized people around .Many time have more info than a site said.In other case there is the Google search too.
