$63K E350 Sedan - What should I pay?

I ordered a 63K E350 sedan that is scheduled to come in next week. I have a good relationship with the dealer who told me I should expect to pay $1000 over Invoice (if there are better deals out there that I know of, I'm sure he'll play ball). I plan to lease the car (36 months/10,000 miles per year). What are some of the deals you guys are seeing out there? Any tips on negotiating the best price? Thanks!

I thought $63K is for E550 wow.... the E350 is no cheap at all....

That's way way too much. These cars are supposed to be $5K cheaper than the outgoing model . They start at $48K so I don't know what could be adding $15K in options?

Yeah, right now is the worst time to buy them, they're gonna be selling more-so now, and be in hotter demand now than perhaps any other time, save for when big incentives come up, so you're obviously paying a premium to have what's new right now.... Which of course will wear off in no time, but that $$ is still gone.

It's an E350, not a E550. $63K is the sticker price with all the options I ordered (just about everything except night vision). Just trying to figure out where the market is in relation to sticker and invoice.

I know, thats why I think it way too expensive. $63k you should able to get E550.

Unless someone can prove a better deal I think you did OK. I've been to a couple of large dealers and best I was offered for a $64K 350 was just over $2500 off with the comment that they may have a little bit more to move. Since the car has no cash on it at all right now I don't see how folks are going to do better than $1000 over invoice, dealers are still trying to turn some profit on this car.

Try << cars.overstock.com >> or << amexnetwork.zag.com >> In the St Louis area, there are dealers who participate in this service who are selling at $250 over invoice for an E-class. These websites will tell you if there are participating dealers in your area. And if there is one dealer, the other unassociated dealers will match the low price. Luxury cars aren't moving all that well right now...

seriously consider the preowned market - I purchased an '06 e350 and it has been outstanding. let some one elseabsorb the depreciation and yu can still get a fab ride....

63K for the 2010 E350? I'm sure you were looking at new E550...

The Base price of 2010 E350 is way cheaper than current 2009 E350 and you can get over $7000 off of MSRP plus 2.9% financing for up to 60 months and wait for few more months and they'll go down even more...WAIT

Btw, this current rates are in Orange County area...

I did nearly the same. No night vision or panoramic roof but pretty much the rest. Sticker $63K. 3 out of 4 no discount. One dealer where I had a strongly connected reference gave me $2,600 off. on the order. ETA 7 weeks after deal.

Still waiting for an update on order. BMW has a web access to real-time production status on an order; even get name of vessel and link to port-o-calls. Was fun to follow my 2002 330Cic. Not as much fun having to bow to MB dealer to get updates.

The deal I got...

I ordered the car with the exact options I wanted, waited about 2 months and when it arrived I bargained and paid $1200 below invoice. I'm not sure why so many on this board feel the need to tell me to wait or to buy a '09. I wanted a new car now and I wanted the latest technology.

BTW, love the car so far. Love the tech options. Actually glad I got the e350 over the e550 (trying to be a little bit green). It's fast enough -- and I'm coming out of a 493 HP SL55. It feels refined and smooth and luxurious. If the diesel had been available now I would have gotten that... but, like I said, I wanted a new car now.

No regrets.

Really glad to hear that the E350 has the power. I am moving from a 315HP 4.4L X5 to an E350 as a daily driver and was concerned with the drop in HP. I have to admit that after 25 years in BMWs I was waiting for the new 5 series. But after seeing the spy shots of it compared to the E Class and having test driven the E Class and seen its technology, I just couldn't wait 1-1/2 years and maybe be disappointed (my 2004 X5 had basically the same dashboard and radio, except for Sirius, as my 1991 535i). Thanks for the info.

Wondering if it only takes 30 seconds from your home to pull up these zag.com prices, could one easily get a better price by negotiating with dealers? Everyone gets the overstock price right?

As long as there are what Overstock calls "certified dealers" in your area, you can use their price offerings to negotiate with other dealers and get the overstock price. I certainly got the overstock price. My sales guy didn't even know his dealership was overstock-certified, but they met the price on the website. I was happy with $250 over invoice.

Good question. Actually one of the dealers I visited offered me $200 under the overstock price, but I didn't like the $$ they were offering for my trade, so I went with a dealer that gave me a good combo of new car price and trade-in.

It's hard to move luxury cars now, so one could certainly try negotiating even lower.

Are you in the market now, or have you already purchased? I'd love to hear if you can beat that price down even further...

You can build an E350 On MBUSA for $75,000. It all depends on what you get.

$1,500 for leather
$10,000 for P2 pkg, Distronic and pano roof.
Add in 4Matic and other simple options to a vehicle that starts at $50k and that price is already past $63k.

I am not sure how flexible dealers are with the W212. I know that when I went to look they wernt flexing even a penny off MSRP. The dealer told that they might be that way until they got rid of the 09's.
