Just bought a new 2010 E550
This is a great car. The car is black with black leather and the black ash wood trim. MRSP was $67,445. Got $3000 off of MRSP. This a lease. It has the panoramic sunroof, Drive dynamic multicontour driver's seat with massage, night view assist Plus and P02 premium package. Also got the sport package.
I'm still trying to learn about all the gadgets.

Congrats! But, you mention that you bought it and leased it? Hmm. How is the lease deal? Months? $ down? Payments?
Good luck and enjoy!

Sorry I meant to say I leased it. The pics are coming. The lease term is for 39 months, $2500 down and the payments are 1073.00 per month. 12,000 miles a year.

No offense, but DAMN some of you guys are willing to pay high *** prices to Rent/Lease an E-Class!
$1+K a month? Isn't that getting into S-Class territory or am I missing something here? I've never Leased so maybe I'm just .

You are not )) it's a little too much, but the car is brand new on the market. You wanna be first on the block to impress chicks - pay for it.
I talked to my dealer yesterday - he says E350 4matic is about 730 plus tax for 36 months 10K a year....I pay today $580 for my E350 sport, pano and all toys. Lease expires in couple months....and I'm thinking used S or new E. Still did not decide.

I guess I'm just not into the "first on the block" stuff, that only lasts a hot minute, then you're just driving another one of many on the road, paying way higher prices than the guy who bought one a year after you.
Used S and new E will sure be a tough one, I like the looks/styling of the S much more, but I've thought about which I would do if I were in the market, both have their pro's and cons. Maybe flip a coin?

I dunno, for that money, I'd rather just put down like $25K, finance the rest, and probably pay a couple hundred dollars less a month (assuming the car comes out to about $70K for a loaded E550, after taxes), and then be able to sell it after 3 years for somewhere in the $30's or maybe even $40's, if I wanted to. You'd still come out better than simply paying that and Leasing.
Paying $45-ish thousand dollars to Lease one for a few years is just mind-blowing to me.
No offense intended to O/P, more power to you for having the ability and will-power to do that!

you could do a CLS for less especially if you look at a 09. That is with p1 & sport
Only difference is that 2010 has a 19" wheel option on the sport package.
The lease numbers for the E550 are a bit high probably due to the money factor
Now if his deal were for 15k/year and no money out of pocket, the lease would be good

The 09s also come with the updated nav and audio system and the new trapezoid style exhaust. Also you get red turn signal bulbs in the back now (I think). I actually haven't seen that many 09 CLS's out. The demand must have really dropped on those.

Rear brake lights and turn signals are LED
You dont see too many CLS in general as the base model is the 550, hence the base price has always been upward of 70K
Also, the space issue makes it a niche car when compared to a E550

He did OK on the lease with 3,000.00 discount. Payment also includes tax. This is the new reality of leasing, higher interest and lower residuals. Those of you that have expiring leases don't expect to flip the old car for the same monthly payment on the new car.
PS
K-A, why would you rain on this guy's parade?

I am getting out of my '08 E63 lease 7 months early - 5 months pulled ahead by MB Financial and the remaining two months worked into the deal for a new lease: 2010 GL450. The GL's residuals are still decent (55% for 36 months as 12,000 miles) and the money factor was great (.00135), so I get a much lower monthly payment to get into a new car after enjoying the E63 for 26 months.
Sometimes leasing works out okay!

Congratulations. I would follow you soon. Lease only, no way to put money on any stuff which can't hold a price for a month.
Regarding taking S over E? I am not sure, currently E has all advanced technology stuff, the same engine as S and due less weight, it will be faster and better handled.

I remember myself in Volga Gaz 21 and Gaz 24 taxi back in Russia when I was 17 ..... Good old days ))))
Regarding S over E ..... I like S look better than new E. I started to like new E a little after meet it in person this weekend. I have to admit - it looks better in person than on a pictures.
I still did not decide I will buy or lease. The way I see it, if to buy - I'd go with used S for $45-$50K. You own much better car for the price of brand new E and all depreciation eaten by somebody else. If to lease - I'd go with E. I still have time till New Year to decide. Anyway we are lucky to make desissions like these.
P.S.
Post some pictures of Volga please.

Not trying to rain on the guys parade, just surprised a bit, I'm just learning new things about Leases every day.
BTW, I don't know if it's a Cali thing, but there are pretty attractive Leases right now (all things considered of course):

$299 a Month to Lease a C? Pretty damn cheap, I'm thinking of trading my Mileage hog/DD Malibu in for one if that's the case. A bit smaller but can't say I won't enjoy driving it a lot more while putting the hard miles on it.... Then again, being a Lease, that puts "Mileage hog" kind of out of the question so maybe not....
Also E350's @ $699 a month, not too bad either, considering it's still a newly-launched car.
& CLS for $869.
