It's gained some weight. Probably from the MCT and the changes in suspension. Torque is the same and the 11 hp gain gets lost due to the weight. The MCT should make it feel faster from the quicker shifts.

Car and Driver first drive has it listed as 4.0 sec 0 - 60, ¼ mile 12.5 sec.
Nothing wrong with those numbers for a 'family' sedan.
But they were C/D estimates despite being a first drive. Guess M-B wouldn't allow the early demo to be instrumented.

I wonder if the new E63 will beat a stock '03 E55 in a drag? Top end I have no doubts (unless the E55 does some simple mod here or there), but if the E63 runs about the same as the W211 E63, it surely can have some problems with the 55.
IMO cars have become so fast these days, makers are gonna be hard pressed to really start slaughtering the outgoing models. Look at the CTS-V.... HOW much faster can GM make the next one? They'll be getting downright way unsafe for regular Joe's and Jane's to pilot (if they aren't already).
M-B used a TWIN TURBO V12 in so many models.... I mean no motor is a better "***** extension" than that, you're slapping on the ultimate of power adders (two of them), onto the largest cylinder motor basically. Not easy to top.
