2010 E350W4 - is this a good lease quote?
When I leased my 2008 E350 4matic at the end of 2007 there were dozens of threads on this board with various deals people were getting on leases. Unfortunately being that this is so early in the offering of the new models there is not a lot of examples I can find so I am going to see if I can get some opinions of this lease. I just got an email earlier today from the sales rep who I met 4-6 weeks ago and said they have some specials for October.
2010 E350 4matic. Black/Black, P01, 321-sport package with the 18 inch 5 spoke sport wheels code R96.The only other item is the Black Ash Wood Trim, code 736.
I did not go with the 6 spoke AMG wheels because I really do not like them at all. I have the 2008 5 spoke AMG's and love them so much more so I will go with the 5 spoke sport this time. The lease is for 39 months, 15,000 miles/yr, $749.85/month with all fees up front, no cap cost reduction. I am waiting to hear what all the fees up front will cost, last time I spoke with him it was about $4,800 so I am looking to get that down to under $4,000 for sure (hopefully). The $749/month is about $50-$60 less per month than the quote I was given 4-6 weeks ago and they will also get me out of my lease early which ends Feb 1st, 2010. I REALLY wanted to extend my lease and wait until spring because new builds will probably have some bugs that may be fixed on the ones built in 2010 and also may be offering some specials come spring. I am really against getting a newly released model so early into the release but so far seems like a good deal. I am sure I can get them down a little bit more once I go in and speak with them.
Appreciate any opinions here.
Thanks.
PS... as I write this the rep emailed me back and said drive off is $4,532.00 which also includes 1st payment and transferring plates.

The out of pocket is the tax which is 8.125% which is probably the bulk of that number (taxes are not figured into the $749 payment), 1st months payment, bank fee, tags, MV fees etc. There is no cap cost reduction in that. Not sure if $4500 is high to be honest but I want that lowered somehow.

I think it's a little high. If your lease ends in February - I'd wait for after New Year deals. They must be better..I hope. Another way to do it - you may try one of Brooklyn's car brokers instead of MB dealers and ask them about price. Usually their price cheaper for about 40-60 dollars a month because they use fleet discount when they make a deal with MB. I took my car from one of those car brokers in 2008 and payment was $70 cheaper than MB dealer. Try if you want. If you need a number - pm me.

What is the MSRP? Sale Price? Even you are leasing suggest that you negotiate based on Sale Price (not monthly pricing). You may want to use a leasing calculator with the numbers...

The sub total is $55,050 plus $875 desitnation and delivery which came to $55,925. I emailed him last night to see if that is the price we are basing these numbers on or thats the MSRP. I think thats the sale price right?

Using the MB Web Site, the MSRP looks correct ($55,925). You need to find out what is the Sale Price (Price is he is selling you the car) and plug the numbers into a leasing calculator.
MSRP - 55925
Sale Price- ?
Term- 39
Money Factor- 0.00259
Residual- 56%
The total out of pocket number (1st month payment, registration fee,
acquistion, documentation fee should be around $2200 for this configuration). NY Taxes 8.125 should be around $2406 for a total out pocket of 4600. It looks like the dealer is based on a Sales Price of approx. ($52,200).. Get the numbers and plug into a leasing calculator.. I send you a sample if it helps...

Ok yes I am just waiting for him to tell me the sales price which looks like you are probably right.
side note - I just wish there was a way to get the LED daytime running lights on this car without having to get the P2 package

I also got the 2010 E350 (Steel Gray Metallic, P1 package, Pano, Sport Package) and wish I got the LED running lights... They look much better!
Good luck with the negotiation...

That is probably about what the sales price is but I will let you know.
I just noticed on the MB site that it is only $750 more to get the 6 spoke AMG and I can't believe this is the 1st time I ever did NOT want to get AMG rims, oh well. I am happy with the 5 spoke 18's.
Will update you on the sales price soon and see how I make out in Brooklyn.

I emailed them back and forth and the quote is the same but a few hundred $ more in drive off.
It is $749 and $4763 out the door.

You will probably negotiate a better price when you go the dealer and negotiate in person and always try to deal with the Sales Manager to avoid the back/forth since they are in position to make decision.
Another suggestion is to give Morristown Mercedes (Northern Jersey) a call at (973) 525-1177. Scott Kaufman is the General Sales Manager and I purchased my past few cars (2010 E350 and 2009 ML 350) from him and always got a great deal.
Good Luck.

Oh absolutely. I have no intention of paying that price I just wanted to get a base line to see where they are all starting at. I am looking to get that $750 down lower and see if they can work on the out of pocket as well, maybe $500-$1000 less but not sure if that's even possible.

The only thing I did - I did not wait for the car which they will bring from the dealer to their office. I went to the dealer myself to pick up the car and signed all papers. They can do it with you and you'll be assured that no any problems along the way. Good luck with your deal. Post detail of the deal after you get the car. Don't forget to ask Ralph about tire and rim insurance. You will need it if you've got Sport package. I bought mine for $380 for the time of my lease and changes 4 tires already ( about $1000 )
The cost of insurance is a bit higher now, but it worth it.

Yes..It's the way I did it. I did not sign any papers with them. I went to Contemporary Motor Cars In NJ to pick up the car. I left my old one there and get new. Nobody even asked about condition of my old car.BTW, condition was good, so I didn't worry about it. Ralph and their company get their comission anyway. Good luck once more. Let me know details of the deal, cause I still can't decide between used S or new E.

15k miles
$2275.00 total out of pocket
8.75% tax rate
$750.00 total payment including tax.
