The way the 212's Fog Lights should have looked....

(don't mind the hideous cheap-o plastic window-tint trimmings).

Dunno who's car this is or where to buy the unit, but if I had the car, I'd go for this mod! Much better than the over-shot double fogs, or even the "aftermarket"-y looking (IMO) hockey stick LED's.

Nice... also check out the E63 LEDs , a bit chunky, but much better IMHO than the eyebrow design. attached

I know it might be a faux pas putting AMG only accents on a non-AMG car, but is there a mod out there to replace the hockey-stick LEDs on the E550 sport with the straight ones from the E63?

I find the L shaped LED foglamp in my W212 quite attractive...

Yeah I think I like the single vs double. I sort of like the idea of the LED but its done so cheaply and like the service manager at my dealer said "if your are going to copy Audi at least make it look nice and not glued on"

Yeah, I don't mind the LED looks, I just think the hockey sticks look a bit cheaply "tacked" on in a way, the E63's on the other hand looks put on in that quality way I'd expect from M-B, closer in line with Audi's, Porsche's, etc. offerings.

The double fogs though I'm not into at all though, I'd prefer the hockey sticks personally even.

MB intended to prevent Brabus making famous double fog lights for W212.

Indeed, looks like they're trying to put Brabus out of business by that.

The single fog lamp is used in markets which do not allow (for legal reasons) the daytime running lamps. As for how it "should have looked", I think your in the minority KA.

Guess not... It's a paradox.

Not so sure about that. I've heard lots of people express their dislike for the double fogs. Dunno though, maybe you're right.

They could have used maybe a bigger fog light, considering the space there is big, or maybe gave it a more "cubic" shape to go with the rest of the car.

A double-cubic shape might have been cool, but the round ones look nice. Either way, I prefer the double to single.
