Do our side mirrors fold in automatically when locked?

I was hoping that the side mirrors would fold in when the car was locked, but I can't figure out how to get them to fold in. I don't have a folding mirror button by the mirror controls (like I have in the ML) so my guess is that they don't. Maybe I am missing something. I also haven't looked in the manual yet about this issue either.

From what I can tell folding mirrors are not an option for the E class. If they were you would indeed have a folding button like in your ML on the drivers door panel. Also the option to turn them on automatically after you lock the doors would be in the computer menu. The first year of the w204 C class had folding mirrors as part of the P1 package, but was later dropped in favor of memory seats. I personally don't use the folding mirror option and in the past have mentioned that its a basically useless option, but have since found myself in a position in which they have come in handy lol.

From what I understand this is not installed on the US vehicles. It is on many of the E's headed for other countries. I do like it on my 2010 ML550 and had it on past ML's also. In addition the parking aid, (tilt down in reverse) is not on the US W212's. I have this on my ML also and also on my 05 E. This, I feel would be more important to have than the fold in.

Thats good to hear if its its correct. I assumed that it was not as the later W211's did not have this. My W212 is due in early Feb, so I will see. My 2010 ML550 does have this feature also.

It is correct. You may have to set it up initially, though. If I remember correctly, I put it in reverse then manually moved the mirror down. From that point on it has done it automatically whenever I shift into reverse. I think the specific instructions are in the manual.

Thanks but after 5 MB's with tilt pass side mirrors I certainly know how to set it.

Hello. I have the 212 and the tilt down feature is available (Passenger side for sure and I don't know re drivers side)and it does work once it is set up initially as stated above.

However, I am also very curious if there is any way / any place to set the mirrors to auto fold in as I also dont have that fold in button, and if it can be done through any settings prompts, this would be fabulous to know, so please advise if anyone has any ideas on this.

Thanks alot to all.

not an option in the us. Have seen pictures of the overseas models that have the fold button lodged in between the 2 miror buttons. beyond me why they wouldn't include it here. From what I can tell US also doesn't get the residual heat option.
