MBUSA site Updated for 2011 E-build

WTF though - to get Wheel package which is NOT the 5 spoke AMG's you have to include the Driver Assistance Package...what if I don't want the DAP - all that Radar crap will render my V1 useless. This is probably gonna set me back a month on my order now - if my car comes with DAP it is a show-stopper for me. So it looks like my dealer and I need to get creative here to get what I want out of this car. byt hte time all is said and done might as well get the 550.

There is no difference in the "build your own" system for the 2011 E's from what was there a week ago. looks like they just changed the year to 2011....so the site still does not reflect the "confirmed" 2011 changes in terms of new features etc. Also, it says that the appearance package adds a wood / leather steering wheel and shift knob by default... which is completely not true.

My 2011 Wheel package included the 5 twin spoke wheel. I like it much better than the 6 twin spoke.

Anyone have pictures of the '11 5-Spoke AMG's for the W212?

Actually on the MBUSA site - the build section is wrong (at least I hope it is) - still shows 6 spoke, but if you do the "Explore" overview of the vehicle it shows the 5 spoke AMG wheels. Still not happy about the Distronic thing...thought I read somewhere on here that it does in fact render a radar detector useless.

Ah, gonna check it out. I noticed that to get the Wheel Package you need to get Distronic, etc.? WTF is that? The wheel Package is like several hundred dollars, and the Driver Assistance Package is several thousand dollars?

Hmm, can't seem to locate the twin 5-Spokes on the Overview thing. The 360 View even seems to have the 6-Spokes?

One thing that I'm shocked about, is that it indeed does appear that LED Fogs are standard with even P1, which is a huge get, and very unfortunate for those stuck with the double-fogs. I think it'll look pretty silly though with yellow halogens for the headlights, and hyper white LED's though.

Oh nm, I just saw them. Yeah they're okay, much better than the 6-Spokes though. Oddly enough I still like the "blade"-ish looking standard Sport Wheels best, I just do like having the AMG Logo on the wheels, lame but true.

I agree up the color tempurture thing as well. Well find out tonight. My wheel package 700 bucks or so. Totally worth it in my book. Rear Spoiler goes on tomorrow.

I got the first "11 in the are. Woo-hoo

I think you got the first 2011 period!!

Looking forward to pics with the wheels, and an update on the spoiler. I think if you give it the go-ahead, I might just get it.

ok the MBUSA site obviously needs some work. there are apparently 5 options for wheels - but when you "build your own", you can only select the 5 spoke 17 inch wheels (standard) and the the 18 inch 6 spoke with the appearance package.

You can find the 18 five spokes (like on the C class) under "wheels" on the car picture. There is another 18 five spoke design under "accessories" as well.

here's the link: http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicl...-E/model-E350C

Also, under the "accessories" tab on the picture, if you click the "side sill panels" (which I thought was standard on all E's) you will see yet another wheel....they are a 5 spoke black/steel design....and they look like 19's IMHO. where can we get THESE bad boys.

I personally wouldn't get too hung up on the wheels. That's the easiest thing to switch out later. Get them yourself. Either different OEMs, or some BBS or HRE, Fikse, etc..

Re-sell the originals or keep them as track wheels or an extra set for cold weather tires, etc..

AMG 18' Twin Spokes on the 2011 Wheel Package. Cost 760.00

Daytime LED's Standard on 2011 Sport

ALSO added Stadard was the Ambiant Lighting Package (unless it used to be included in 2010)

See pictures attached.

Hot!! Those wheels look great, MUCH better than the 6-Spokes. Fortunately for me, I really love the standard Sport Wheels as well, at least now there are 2 hot Options, I'd love to have that "AMG" badge on my wheels again though.

If you could post any pics of the side profile, as I'm sure it looks great with the wheels, and pics of your INTERIOR too!!

Congrats. Glad I was of any help.

It was a pleasure! And I'm still shocked at how you have a 2011 in your driveway already, as people are still reporting waits of a month or so, so that specific car was obviously meant to be.

M-B's really gotta stop ******* their customers like that.... Imagine how one would feel to have the only year of a 7 year Production run with the yellow light double-fogs? That ain't cool. I guess they could be considered rare within the next few years.

Not just MB that does that...Lexus does it with just about every model...sometimes it is a single year color option...2006 my IS was available in Blue Onyx Pearl (blue with black metal flake)...06 only - after that it switched to a Black Sapphire Pearl (Black with a blue metal flake). Did that on the GX's with Sand Dollar pearl too. I like the LED DRL's, but I also like having foglights...don't know - might add a set of low profile PIAA fogs if I can make them not look too aftermarket.

I am so jealous that you were already able to pick up your 2011. I am still waiting for mine - probably Monday or Tuesday of next week. For once, I wish I lived a lot closer to Baltimore and the VPC.

Your car looks sharp! I am looking forward to seeing a few more pictures. I like the new AMG five spoke wheels.

I hope you have many years of happy motoring . . .

I checked 2 dealers in the seattle area today & they are sitting on dozens of 2010's. The dealer I bought mine from said MB won't release 2011's until august due all of their left over inventory. I guess people in the northwest are waiting for a hybrid version

2020 GLE450 polar white AMG pkg.
Question 2011 e-BUILD

A number of issues / changes i've noted on the 2011 build site:
  • MSRP increased $800 to $49,400 on the RWD model (was $48,600)
  • Any "saved vehicles" on Owners Online were deleted!
  • The AMG wheel package / 3 spoke steering wheel cannot be added ala carte, you must also add the Drivers Assist Package with distronic plus; blind spot assist, and lane keeping assist.
  • P2 package price increased by $100 to $6450
  • Rear "side window" sunblinds are claimed available as a P1 option, but the picture shown is for the rear window power shade. Is this an error?
Can anyone confirm my observations?

Thanks in advance.
