some questions on the E
Hi, I have looked over some pictures and looks like there are two versions of the E Sedan. The ones I see in US car dealers (two deferent dealers) that have the gear shifter in the staring column and then I see some version in the online pics in this forum that have it in the center console like the old E. I'm referring to automatic transmission cars here.
I have also seen pictures of deferent front seat styles. The ones in US dealers look very flat like something out of a car in the 60s. (like the beige in the pic bellow) I also found some pics of seats that look closer to the coupe versions.
Any inputs / clarifications?
Thanks

The seats seem to be the same other than the black ones look leather and the almond, MB Tex
As for the gear shifter I have yet to see an E350/550 sedan with a shifter in the center column. I know the coupe/convertibles use the center gear shifter knob, but that photo doesn't look like anything I've seen.

As for the gear shifter: The picture you posted is of an E63 and thats how that model comes. However, I believe for 2011 the shifter moves from the stock down to the center console for 350/550.
As for the seats: I'm sure the difference is a standard seat vs. a multicontoured active seats...but not 100% sure.

The seats as you can see in the beige car are much more flat, not wrap around and the cuts go up/down verses the black going sideways. The Black looks to be more sporty. I checked both the luxury and sport versions of the E350 sedan and both had the same seats like the beige in that pic.

Thanks for the seat info. The ones in the two Es we test drove turned us off to that car Good to know there is an option even if the dealers are not aware of it. Hopefully its available in the US

and here is another pic of the seat that the two US dealers had in their cars. Is that a stick shift there?

Please look at the disclaimer than tells you that some of the pics are ROW cars versus US cars. By STFF'ng MBW you will find references that ROW has options that are not in the US version.

Very interesting. Looks like the two car dealer sales people (deferent dealers in Chicago area) had no clue. There are options of Multi Contour ($755) seats and Drive dynamic ($405) or is that Drive dynamic upgrade to multi contour?

Here is a pic from the USA Mercedes website showing the seats. These were the only seats that the sales person told us were available. Next time I will be at the dealer with my CLK, I will check about the Multi Contour and Drive dynamic seats as an option.

That is definitely a S212 in pic #8, look at the door trimming, it's a design exclusive to the W212. Also, you can get a slight glimpse of the W212's center stack.
I think it's gotta be a EU Manual optioned model?

Cmon K ....look at rear window...and the room between rear seats and window. It does not look like sedan at all. More like R or GLK

You can even see that on the US MB website in the 360 view. The shift knob is in the steering wheel column. Very awkward and 60s like design.
