"rings" in rear window

Asked dealership service writer about it and he replied that it is normal. Part of the manufacturing process and is in the glass.
Anybody ever heard of this? Have owned many cars and none has ever had rings in rear window at any time. Last several have had rear window defoggers.

I have cleaned the inside window several times with window cleaners. Outsides get cleaned at least every two weeks-I'm a nut about having clean windows.
Funny I have never seen it in other cars, but guess it is OK.

EDIT: pdf file didn't load for some reason. I guess it's too big. Go to Pilkington's (automotive glass for Mercedes, BMW, etc.) website and search for tech bulletin ATS -157 (2007-07-25)

I have not seen rings in my car but if there are any they probably are from installation "lift sucker cups".
These rings are on the OUTSIDE of the glass (obviously assembly "robot" is on the outside of the car) and will not come off without mechanical, sometimes heavy, rubbing with good window cleaner. They will NOT come off during normal automatic washing and even normal hand washing usually does not remove them.

Problem is have only seen them when glass fogged over, which has been rare.
