Some photo's you might enjoy
Hi guys, finally got around to putting up some photo's. I have most of the cosmetics done, Llumar II ceramic 30 tint, Vossens VVS085 MB caps (20" staggered), black calipers with AMG logo, lowered (fine tuning this weekend), trunk and roof spoiler, haven't decided on putting on the flat badge or grill, kind of like the traditional look it works with the wheels.

Thanks guys I'm pretty happy. I've been lowering it slowly (third drop this Saturday) and have been able to maintain the ride/improve it for my taste, the car rides well and feels quite a bit more stable especially entering and exiting turns (you can still feel the difference between the sport and comfort settings, I lowered it with links). I added the camber bolts mentioned in AMG section by Vic55 (thanks for that) to eliminate a very slight drift to the right the bolts took care of that after I installed the wheels. Saturday I'll bring the back down about 1/4 to a 1/2 inch and then it should be where I want it. Next a lot of the guys in the AMG section recommended a tuner in LA (OE Tuning) I hope to connect with him soon, plus I'll do a couple of basic performance items which I've heard should smooth the engine and let it breath a little better. I want to find a inboard radar system, not sure if you guys have seen the work Mid City has done that integrates the radar into the instrument cluster, that looks/sounds pretty good but I need to do a lot more work to understand which way to do with that.

KA, I picked up the Blackfire care kit it's supposed to do a great job when detailing black, this is my third black car, I think it's a part-time job keeping it clean.

Indeed it will be. As I've said before, my theory on any car, and ESPECIALLY black cars, is no mods surpass the excellent showing of a pristine example. A black car that just gleams is really a diamond in the rough.

Great job FTB. Keep up the great work and post more pics when its lowered more. Love the wheels and calipers. I would get rid of the yellow/amber side markers though as well.

Dropped the rear a 1/2" this weekend
We dropped the rear 1/2" this weekend (it had a little too much rack for my liking), visually exactly where I like it (not too low or too high). No additional impact on ride (as mentioned I really like the ride, very little sway into the turns. Installed 2 camber bolts, it eliminated any drifting to the right.

Wow, looks hot! That rear dish really brings out the beefiness of the flanks.
As for the grille question, I think with especially with those "luxury" conveying wheels, the car has a mega mean and stately look going for it, which would go out the window/have the whole balance thrown off with a star face, IMHO.
Oh, and I'd recommend blacking out the amber markers and that baby will look absolutely SINISTER. Very premium and killer vibe going for that ride all around.

Very nice Hyperion, I am approaching 700, I believe we both picked up our cars around the same time so I have some catching up to do. I will catch you in about a month though, I have to drive from my side of the country over to yours... coast to coast!
However I am contemplating shipping the car and flying... I am not sure if I really want to put 3000mi on the car as well as I may be too old for that kind of driving. lol

it would be nice to see the country, (what you can on I-40, have not been out west in ages), in your Benz huh? I could understand wanting to
NOT put the miles on too.....would the car fly as well?

Philly, the 550 owners have the luxury of lowering their cars via computers, while we'd have to do it the old fashioned way.
