I had noticed that audio stays on, but I wonder for how long. One thing that irritates me when using Navi or Audio without first turning on engine, everything shuts down at about 5 minutes.
BTW, re: Daylight Savings Time. May not be automatic as US Congress keeps changing the D@*% dates and also some places do not observe it.

My ML500 2002 has that feature, and I do like it. 1999 does not.

Yes you get too used to it though.

On a cross country drive with a friend delivering a Ford Taurus to his Ph.D. student in California I was pulled over by an Oklahoma State Trooper and spent some minutes in his cruiser. He double checked our records and I read the price list of fines on his dashboard. The reason? When he came up behind me cruising at the speed limit and wanted to pass I only blinked once to change lanes, not for "the full 100 feet".

You would figure that on a car with the Command system, which has the date/time already programmed into it, as well as a GPS which knows exactly where you are, it could figure out the time had to be changed... just like how Windows XP or Mac OSX would know.
I wonder if the W211's or the W221's switch on their own or not.

My cell phones could display the correct time 10+ years ago, and they didn't even have GPS. Heck, with blue-tooth, why can't the car ask the phone for the time?

I just added the MBRACE application to my phone. Nice feature, I was surprised to find that you can add multiple cars to one phone under the same app.

Unfortunately, the mbrace app doesn't work on any Android phone or there would be many, many more users.

I thought I read that they had an android app about to be released. I just got an I-Phone this past weekend. I swore I'd never get one---who really needs that much "connectivity" and internet? But finally bit the bait when Verizon came out with theirs and I got the new E550 and wanted the mbrace feature. I actully do like it quite a bit. So far, mbrace and a rather addictive game---Angry Birds--- are the only apps I have other than what came on the phone.

1) if you turn your car off while the radio is on mute when you turn it back on it will still be muted.

2) if you have your radio muted and change stations the radio will become unmuted

3) if you have MBRACE you can send directions to your car either from the MBRACE app of from the send2benz website (http://www.send2benz.com). To retrieve it just press the i-button overhead and the address will be loaded up automagically on the headunit.

4) when the navigation starts to bug you with traffic jams and accident updates you have on your route you can just press the MUTE button to cancel all traffic condition information. I don't know how to turn this back on beside restarting the car. It sometimes drives me crazy when the navigation starts spewing out traffic condition updates every minute. I just cancel it and revert to the COMMAND screen to see where the problems are whenever I want an update of the traffic situation.

and a feature that was new to me:

5) when using voice command to dial someone you can do it in one step instead of two. If you want to call me you can just say "Call Pete Cell" or "Call Pete Home" instead of saying "Call Pete" and then wait until you got prompted for which number to call.

I keep getting a local Pub when I do that, 'must be my Southern accent---then again, that's where most of my friends are hanging out anyway.

Hey, this car is pretty smart! It calls my friends at the pub, tells me how to get there, tells me how to get home from the pub, tells me if I start to cross a center line and pushes me back in my lane, maintains a constant speed, brakes if someone up fronts slows or stops, try's to get me to drink coffee when I need it, beeps if I get too close to stuff and tells me how to park.

OBVIOUSLY designed by those who love Oktoberfest!!!

(Sorry, I got on a roll and couldn't resist the joke!)

You can do the same thing with google maps.Just enter an address and when it's displayed click on "send" (upper right area)...choose "car"...choose Mercedes from the drop down list...and enter the e-mail address connected to your Mbrace account and then hit "send".A message will appear that the entry was successful.Worked perfectly with my BMW and it works perfectly with my Bluetec.

Noticed that if you move the seats back, the head rests automatically go up. Guess the car assumes a tall person is going to use the seat and their head is higher!

I have used the MBrace application on my Bold 9700. Works fine, have only tried out lock and location, but would assume the rest works as well.

Easy: Use command to select RPT (repeat). RPT makes the voice come back.
