I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the right seat ejector button. Very handy for annoying passengers.

While driving yesterday, there are two things I wondered they would improve in their year 2025 model. Not a complaint, just vague thoughts...
One, related to HOLD feature: When you put brakes on HOLD, I wish it gave me a small 'beep' to confirm.
Not that my eyes dont need some exercise, but everytime I put it on HOLD, I have to take my eyes off the car in front of me to confirm. Yes, I am that lazy.
Second, while closing the trunk by pressing the red button, I know exactly which button to press, but every single time, I have to think twice about pressing the right one (no pun intended, because its the left one) just so I dont lock the car as well. If only, they would make it in a different color. For now, I am just going to use a black magic marker and paint one of them.

Picked up my car this week. A few things I thought were cool that I had not read about beforehand were the hood going verticle for service (Hood first goes into normal up position -- then just keep pushing lightly and it goes strait up and down) and also how nice the front head rests were. Many may have known, but as a first time Mercedes owner these two small things impressed me.

Unlock at Night
Not sure if this was mentioned in this wonderful thread...I did not see it but I noticed yesterday that when entering the car at night if you press the unlock via the remote twice the front lights and side mirror lights come on.

I probably should read the manual when I get a car, but I just discovered how to set the outside passenger mirror to dip when going into reverse on a 2011 e350. (actually, my salesman said that it didn't dip on the 350

For a car with Distronics, once the car stops on it's own accord, I used to have to tap the gas pedal to get going again. Now I found that I can resume from this stop by simply pulling the cruise control stalk back towards me and the car will start moving again. Neat!

A few comments on some of the hints given here for the 2011 e-350 (with the 2012 Comand 4.5 system)...I will try more of the hints tomorrow
1) half tapping the turn signals does not do anything...the only way to get the turn signals to work is to push them so they turn on.
2) pushing and holding the recycle button does not close windows.
3) yes, you can close the trunk by pushing on the trunk open switch on the driver door (neat!!)....however you can't close the trunk using the remote (not neat!)
4) If you are listening to Sirius and have the nav screen on the display, pressing the # key will display the name and performer of the music on top of the map (it disappears as soon as you release the # key). Pressing any number button will jump the radio to that saved channel. Pushing the * key does nothing.
5) A big thank you for this one....yes, holding both open and close buttons down on the remote for 10 seconds changes the way the remote opens the car doors. Now I can open the driver door with one click and all the doors with two clicks.
6) The disc button does indeed toggle thru the audio input options.

I tried quick and slow, stopping just short of where it would hold in the on position....I could not get it to flash at all unless I got the lever into the full lock left/right turn position. Perhaps it's an art to get that tap just right....

Sorry for my misinformation...I tried that quick full tap (pull to the resistance) again today and, yes, it flashes three times. Not sure what I was doing wrong yesterday.

Not sure this is the correct thread for this but just resently noted that the windshield on my 2011 E350 acts like it has been treated with Rain-X. Rain-X makes it possible to drive highway speeds without using wipers in rain with very good visibility. I have never treated my E350 windshield with it but it sure acts like it has.
I'm quite sure after market replacements don't work the same way. Makes sense to use MB original when replacing the windshield.

I don't know if it's standard or part of a package, but I can close my trunk from the driver's seat by pushing on the trunk release lever.
I cannot figure out why that is a useful feature though. It's fun to amaze people with it, but it takes more effort to get them to understand that you DON'T want them to close the trunk.

Just so you know, every recent car with a trunk must have such a release (don't want you to think you can kidnap somebody with a Ford or something).

You can program your remote to just unlock the drivers door with one click and two clicks opens all of them. To program: hold your key 5 feet from the drivers door and press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time for 10 seconds and its programmed. You can reverse this by repeating the same procedure. I feel safer in parking lots doing it that way.
The cornering light lights up on right side when when you turn right going slow in dark and left when turning left. The lights reverse when you are moving reverse, i.e. when reversing and turning the wheel left the right side cornering light comes on. It always shows on side where the front of the car moves. Kind of cool.

In the centre armrest storage compartment, one of the flaps has a "PEN HOLDER".
Now I'm just wondering if any of your cars came with a Mercedes pen or do we supply our own little Bic pencils... LOL

what am I doing wrong? 2011 e. I lower the windows a bit, then hold down the recirculate button and the windows don't close......but someone in this thread said that they should close. Hints?

I dont know whether this was mentioned in the original "did u know" stuff,
but what is really cool is the keyless go function,or maybe its on all the E's I dunno,,with the key in ur pocket,just grabbing a door handle or the trunk release and boomff,,opens,,,AND to lock the doors a slight touch with the back of your hand,,,truly cool.
