Clear markers on black
I had to use a dremmel on the lip that holds the front part of the lense in place. The front bumpers plastic was thicker than the lip and I couldn't get it in place. I also put a slight angle on it and after that they slid in place like butta. I just went with the silver bulbs that glow orange. I also debated smoke but glad I went clear, it just goes well with the clear lenses on everything else.

looks great!!
Brad those look real nice. Here are three examples of the no marker look (matching the body color).

IMO I wouldn't put smoke on there unless you have something else smoked or working towards that. I would either go clear for a match or paint to hide/blend.

IMHO smoked ones belong to black cars only- unless you have smoked themes going on with other parts of the car
Sick wheels btw

How hard was it to install the License Plate LED's? Seems like a PITA for a non "handy" person like myself. I wouldn't mind a more white color back there, to match all the rest of the hyper crisp light colors on my car, but I don't want it "brighter" at all, as I don't want my Lic Plate to be all so attention grabbing.

the plates were not that easy (looking) again, didn't do it myself.........
once you do get there, the bulbs pop out and the entire housing gets replaced, they slide in very easily and fit perfectly............and are bright as hell.....
if you don't want the super bright, (K-A mentioned it) then skip these babies.....
My personal plate should be here soon, that's why I wanted to brighten that end up....
it's my car's name..........DEATBEAT

Nice. Yeah, I'll probably skip 'em, until I have confirmation of one that isn't necessarily brighter than the OEM's, but produce a white light. I don't mind the warm yellow back there, as it's a small spot, but no doubt, some subtle LED's would be perfect, and fit with the rest of the car (considering it's a P2 car especially).
BTW, if it was too bright for you, you could easily do-it-yourself throw on a little piece of tint over it.
