Thinking of selling my....
Not to bore with the personal reasons, but I am giving thought to selling my 2011 E550. Very nicely equiped, 3200 miles never exposed to harsh winter conditions, never wrecked, scratched, etc. A beautiful (but expensive) third car. I dont want to mess with a dealer on this and would list it on this forum and autotrader I guess. Just giving you guys a heads up. Thanks.

That sounds like the ultimate equipped E-Class to me (like my car with the 550 motor and DD Seat ).
You should post a price though.

Hello. msrp = $67040. pano, p2, rear splr, drvr dynamic seat, 110 outlet, tint, white/almond. $62K
I've had feedback that I am asking too much. I can tell you in Houston, there are not many 550's at all and the dealers are not taking off much or any off sticker. Supply and demand. 350's are a totally different story. Thanks everyone. It was a thought to sell, not that I have to sell. So, who knows, it may not sell. It is a FUN car to drive....

Sad but true, you have a car with 3200 miles on it. It's new to you; but, if well treated so far, is an excellent used unit which would bring top dollar in the used car price range. Bad to sell now for no special reason...

Another data point for you to consider: I had a 2011 BMW 535i that listed for $63k. I got $50k for it with 3200 miles (3 months old) and in showroom condition (no blemishes whatsoever). That was wholesale to a dealer, but he was lucky to get $50k for it retail two months later.
Good luck. You never can tell who will come calling and might meet your price without doing any comparison shopping.

I don't think you will be successful at that price. I paid a little less than that for my 2011 E550 which listed for about the same as yours without any bickering whatsoever with the dealer. I used the USAA buying service which many dealers accept.

Agree. Used 2010 E550's are about 54-57K here in the LA area and I got my new 2010 E550 P2 in Nov. for SIGNIFICANTLY less than that (a lot of incentives/discount/loyalty considerations). My sales guy and I had the very same discussion about why anyone would buy a slightly used car when there are so many dealer discounts and unfortunately for us E550 owners, they take a bigger hit in the used market than the E350's.
However E550's are very hard to find in the used market right now so you do have that going for you, GL!

Thank you guys for a little tough love. A great forum here. I'll reconsider my pricing should I really want it to go away. Will consider this thread a wrap!

Park: You got your E550 for significantly less than $54K, brand new??
Jesus Christ. I got reamed by not waiting just another 4-6 months for getting my car.
Oh well, ya live and ya learn, lol.

You bought used (with 2K miles) car for 60,289.
1000 miles later (not to deal with dealer) you willing to sell it for 62K.
And we dare to give you tough love...

Car was one of three E's (350, 550, 63) that a guy bought within 6mos period from our local dealer. My 550 was his local trade for his E63. I PRESSED and HAMMERED for $59,500 - $59-900, as they came down from $64995. I wanted to be below $60K. I paid, $60289 with $2K miles on it. Spotless. They said too hard to come by, had it a week, felt they could sell it for more. I had just got out of a 2008 CLS 550, P2, etc. Like the E much better! Did I get a good deal?

Wait, so this car will be a 2-going on 3 owner car, in less than a year and 3200 Miles?
Yikes! No offense to O/P, but being realistic, and given the ridiculous "blow-out" Sales M-B gives on their cars nowadays, I'm thinking high $40's. I'd be very apprehensive to want a car that will be a 3-going on 4 owner car when I'd sell it.

K-A you are absolutely correct. The person/dealer you sell or trade to is going to want to know what's wrong with the car due to so many changes of Title. I think that guy is attempting to make some money as he thinks he bought it cheap. Unfortunately, it don't work that way.

Its called buyers remorse. Was some what of an emotional/impulse buy for the wife. Dont get me wrong, a very nice car and like it over the CLS we got out of, but reality strikes when that first payment comes due! 9 of 10 buyers have no idea of this website and you all are too savvy of a group so I wouldn't expect to get top dollar here, but anyway, the wife likes it and that's all that matters in most situations. I do realistically think the car would bring $59K on the retail market talked down from $62K. What I paid for it becomes irrelevant. And for the record, the car has NO issues. Appreciate everyone's responses/comments.

This was my 3d BMW. It was a troublesome car form day 1. In the shop 3 times for check engine light, one time the engine malfunction light came on and the engine stalled in a busy intersection. On top of that was a recall for a faulty fuel tank sensor with the warning to fill up every 200 miles until the part came in to fix it. Car also hesitated from a dead stop and then lurched forward. Dealer reduced that effect somewhat when they repaired the tube that came loose from the turbo which caused the engine to stall but the problem was still there to a lesser degree. Looking on line, I discovered that the hesitation issue was not unique to my car. Also, there were several complaints of steering issues with the 2011. With all of that I was fed up. So, I traded it for the 2011 E550. There is no comparison between the two cars. The Mercedes beats the BMW hands down.

FYI. I traded in my three week old e350 4matic with p2, pana roof and parktronic with a sticker of $62,700, which I bought for $56,136 for $53,000. I bought an e550 with p2, etc. with a sticker of $73,000 which they sold me for $66,636. It cost me $3,136 for my indecision and use of the car for three weeks. The car had 800 miles on it. I would also imagine that I lost some leverage on the price of the e550 due to the fact that I was pushing them to do the trade. So I would imagine that the price for the e350 would have been even lower had I not bought another car. The trade was done on December 24th, 2010. Regards. Ned.

With over 2(3?) owners on a car with 3.2K miles a lot of questions would come into play from the next buyer. Think about it, if I were interested I would want a full inspection, VMI records, everything pulled possible, and then I would offer less due to that many owners. If you try to sell to a dealer, well you know what will happen. The car may be mint, but like I said...perception.
In bold, not to be a jerk, as I am a real down to earth dude...but didn't you know what the payments would be before you bought the car? I know this is not relevant to you selling it, but just saying.
Good luck with selling it, but I do think the price will have to be dropped some more.

You got a great deal!!! Paid over $3,000 less than me for what sounds like a similarly equipped car. My guess is that you have all the same stuff as I do with the addition of parktronic. I can't quite figure out how my car got ordered with everything that it has with no parktronic! It was on the e350 that I owned briefly. A very useful option IMO. Regards. Ned.

Not sure if this adds anything, but I got my E350 msrp for $58k for $51k and well above blue book value on my trade. Out of curiosity asked a dealer (not where I purchased) what trade would be if I was looking at another Benz with sticker of $64k and they said $44-$45k. That means I MAY be able to sell for $48-$49k in my own, and that is with one owner and 2000 miles. My rattle free problem free MB won't be going anywhere.

It all started because my wife's ML had a terrible burning oder that they could not diagnose. After 4 mos of loaners and suggestions that our sense of smell was too acute, we got the GM involved. He got MB corporate and MB financial to take us completely out of the lease, provided we leased a new ML. They discounted a new ML 8k and we got a .00001 MF (means we pay $30 bucks in interest over the three years of the lease). Our monthly payment on the 61k ML is $570 per month. We locked all this in before the winter event expired.

Yes Ned I think its a great deal. I was all set to order the new BMW F10 550i with the M sport package, but I could not pass this deal up. Plus, MB gave me the best trade number for my S550 & they offered 1.9% financing, which they lowered to 1.65% with automatic pay set up. They also located a car with the options I wanted and had it trucked in from South Jersey for free.
