3M Invisible Bra
I plan to get one of the 3M invisible bra's on my 550 and wondering what the going rate is in your neck of the woods. I have been quoted a low of $750 regardless of model from MB of Jacksonville Fl to $1350 at MB of South Atlanta. Several Indy's in the mix as well between $900 and $1100.
I have on my wifes former RX350 and it saved us a ton of $$$. 9 days after purchase she got stuck behind a dump truck on I75 that was spewing marble sized gravel at 70mph which beat the snot out of the hood / bumper. We peeled the old film off and put new on without a scratch! Lexus dealer did for free as car was so new. Wife crying on the phone probably helped pull that one off.
Not conceded about the yellowing problems of the past...3M has it together on today's product.

I too have the 3M film on my MB due to Hwy 50 and gravel trucks. I love it as the little rocks just bounce off without leaving a mark...

some shots of my car with front 1/3 wrapped in 3m bra.. as you can see its visible from an angle, or when the car is dirty... however it's better than having the paint chipped from highway driving![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
If I were to do it over again I would've chosen the front fully wrapped just for a cleaner look.

I was thinking of getting it, as rock chips annoy the hell out of me.
However, through my experiences, after seeing some cars that have had them on for probably a couple+ years, is that they are a bit noticeable, and they slightly change the reflection/coloring of the paint when the sun hits, especially (spoils it a bit IMO). Not to mention, if they start yellowing, etc.
It's about whether it's worth it to you, really. I guess I'm taking the gamble without getting it, and hoping for the best.

when i went with my dad to buy the e class the dealership offered us a complete protection package (invisible bra or tinted windows + interior protection + paint protection)
http://www.london.mercedes-benz.ca/s..._e-BRO_ENG.pdf
they showed us a white s class with it and we thought it looked bad on it. so in the end we subsituted the tinted windows in its place. if your car is white then i recommend you dont get it.

RW Your car looks great, I can't notice it, but yes you can see the seem on my car if you're looking for it. I wouldn't hesitate to get this done, I HATE CHIPS. KA the newer materials are so much better than the older films, I have a lifetime guarantee against yellowing, doubt I'll have the car that long (I hope) but it's better than what happened to my black S from the freeways.

I too have lifetime protection from yellowing ot fading or peeling ... all thru my MB dealer. I paid a bit more than going to the tint shop direct, but I got MB to give me better protection because of it. I think I only paid ~$300 for it afterall.

We are moving to SoCal in June so will most likely wait until we get out there to have it done as I want to be able to take it back to the installer if I have issues. The prices you all are getting on that side of the states is 1/3 to 1/4 of what I'm being quoted here and we have those damn love bugs 2x per year. You would thunk there is a bigger market down here.
For those if you in the LA / Orange County area pass along those dealer names.
