265(!) 35/19 anyone?
TireRack follows strick OEM fitments as much as possible. I work with them for many years now, and know how they operate.
With this in mind, for example 255/35-19 is standard/optional front tire for E63. If you want to buy it from them and tell them that you'll put it on wagon, there will be a note "...customer fitment...fitment is not guaranteed..customer is advised..." something along those line.
For them to say its OK to use a 265/35-19 (its both much wider and 3/4 of an inch taller than stock) front and rear tire for a 4matic wagon, that advisor is either new or it is not possible. I'm not saying that tire will not fit (it probably will on a 19x9 wheel with offset of 35-37). All I am saying is that its highly questionable for them to say that "wagon can handle" that size.

Normally, track width is determined by tire width, wheel width and offset. E63 uses 1/2" wider wheels front and rear, 10mm wider front and 20mm wider rear tires, hence yelding wider front and rear track.

I know this is an old thread but I want to confirm. Would a 255/40/19 or 255/35/19 work better (more room)? Also, what would be a safer positive offset, a 35 or 42? Thanks.

I find my winters on 17" rims better riding and much the same on handling as the summers which are stock 18".
19" will ride harsher and you will experience tram lining.
The side wall height is a contributor to the overall suspension so replacing wall height for appearances would not be my choice.
After are are these cars for driving or are they driveway Queens?
