Blacked out tail lights
black tint 3. mercedes paint. If you can post some pics of them and what you option you used want to see what looks the best.
on my w211 i used mercedes black paint got it done at the shop but they were way to dark(put to many coats on).but they looked great. I dunno how the tint is going to look if it shows up too light.
Also my cars a lease so i dunno how mercedes would feel about them the tint of course comes off easy the paint prob dosent at all and i think the spray can might. Last time i swaped out my lights with someones regular ones so worked out.
Mine looks clean and almost OEM as heck, on both my old W211, and my new W212. I took it to a professional Tint/Vinyl/Sticker shop, and they use a special thicker Tint that's designed for lights (as opposed to windows). Make sure to get the LIGHTEST Tint possible. Against the red, it will still be dark, but it will have a cleaner, classier look, be less of a magnet to Police, let more light out, and look more dynamic.
looks great so thats the vinyl tint right? im gonna bring it to my shop tommorow and get it done...thanks for the pics

the front corner blinkers as well as the tails.........still not sure if I should do the red or white part......
I think the reason that I'm okay with light and classy/clean smoked tails is that, if you're looking at a car as an art-form (it is after all, a Design, an art-form, etc.), the red color doesn't always work or contrast well with certain colors or car setups. Slightly darkening the tails sometimes gives the car a more uniformed color coordination, just like blacking out or clearing out the amber markers.
I will say, about 10% of the tinted tails I see look good and classy, about 90% look cheap, and ghetto. A lot of it has to do with the car, the cars color, the complimenting mods (or lack thereof), and the darkness of the Tint.

If you watch Le Mans look at Audi LMP1 R18s' clear headlights , when they hit the the pit lane and stop the engine , I like the way they flash the lights

this is the OME rear lights ...
