w212 ECU Reset

Hello Gents... I just picked up a used 2010 and I tried to search to see if there was a reset ECU method but I could not seem to find. Being the second owner, I would like to reset and have it learn my driving style etc.

Many Thanks in advance,
JP

I posted the same request some time back without any results. Not sure if there is one as I asked a few knowledgeable forum members.

Curious myself...

From what someone pretty knowledgeable told me...

There might not be a reset and that the ecu might be constant learning. Based on the last 50 minutes of driving supposedly.

Not sure if this is factual tho...

Probably some truth to that, at least the constantly learning part... BUT there has to be a way to remove long term trims etc (short of ECU replacement) ... unless thats this persons point... is that there is no long term data used to dictate ECM or TCM behaivior.

If it can be done, can be done without MB tech assistance or some third party device? It may be a process closer to re-flashing with stock data vs. simply re-setting the ECU.

The mystery continues.

Take a look at post #114 in the nearby thread on Cool/Useful Features with a link to an earlier comment about a manual reset using accelerator pedal in a prior E series.

That post was mine. Also looking for the ECU reset. Doesn't work on the W211.

Thumbs up

The ECU reset worked on my 07 E350 and my 08 E550. I followed the instructions given previously in the w211 forum...I think the title was "sneaky ecu reset". It really woke up my 550
