New M5 revealed (Photo's)....
It looks great! The "BMW Smurf Blue" () really balances this car out. It looks very understated and simple (like the F10), save for the aggressive and awkwardly mismatched from the rest of the understated styling's front bumper (looks too desperate to inject some boy-racer-y aggression to an otherwise elegant and conservative car), but I think that this car walks a very nice line of elegance/maturity, and a sporty, "M" flavor. The E63 comes off as a much more aggressive car.
I'll pick a "regular" W212 over an F10 all day, but something about "M5" just has this mystical and classic heritage that really appeals to me. If I was in the market for these hopped up Luxo cars, the E63 would have its work cut out for it.

Looks good..i love the front end, it's a very nice update. Although i think the old
bodystyle looks more aggressive.
Old body style looks better in the rear end department IMO...i think its because i am just not a fan of those tail lights.

I do like the front end a lot more than the standard F10's "M-Pack", which is even more of a jumbled mess, and has this overly angular (in context to the rounder body) "Darth Vader Helmet" look.
But yeah, this car is awesome. What is the M5 MSRP usually anyway?

Looks really good. I like that they've kept the oval exhaust tips from previous Ms and haven't gone to the 'post -modern' rectangular style. Plus no flashy LED light gimmickry up front.
If you look closely you'll see that the "aggressive" front bumper is serving a very functional purpose: to pull air to the intercooler and oil coolers.

In the last few pics the M looked quite sweet.
Alright KA it's getting close for a test drive and full report from you. If you really enjoyed it any chance you might....???

The 63 is sweet too, don't know about the rims though, can't wait for the BBC's top gear review of the M5 and E63 with the English dudes.
*Edit* the rims on the 63 look eerily close to a BMW M design!

An M5 is certainly out of my spending range, but, although I'm kind of spoiled on wanting only a New car for my "nice car", in a couple of years, who knows.
That E63 looks great, however I also agree about the wheels. I don't want AMG to start copying "M" with those wheels, etc. AMG's gotta be 5-Stars and keep it real!

The realities of performance aside, the M5 just looks more like a corner tosser. The E63 looks longer (again just based on looks) and not something you'd immediately feel compelled to head out with to the twisties. The M5 just appears to be more compact. Added to all that is the interior cockpit of the F10. It's much more ergonomic and the seating position is perfect for hard core driving, imho. When I drove the F10 I had more of a snug and in control kind of feeling over the W212.
As to actual performance between the two out in the real world, we'll have to wait and see.....

In person the F10 looks larger than the W212 though, IMO. It appears more bulbous, and of course, it is physically larger. The W212 with all its creases gives it a more "up-tight" look, which gives it a slightly tauter and more compact appearance, yet a larger character, if that makes sense. The F10 does look more sporting though, while the 212 retains a more stately image, overall (rightful places).
220S: What do you think about the body roll on those images? It didn't stand out to me, but I posted this same Thread at Bimmerfest, and some of the guys commented that the body roll pictured is "appalling". Hard to gauge at what speeds we're seeing it at, however.

I've never been a fan of Bimmers center stack myself. I find the Command and the vents of the 212 to have better shapes. That whole area of the F10's interior looks kind of weird and cluttered to me, aside from that the interior is very nice. The screen is massive however, much bigger and more hi-definition than the M-B's. Not that I find the Command screen size to be too small for my linking.

That makes sense, some people seemed surprised but I'd assume that even the stiffest cars will roll when pushed. To be honest, the F10 owners on that Thread are pretty astonishingly unimpressed with the car, the response is less positive than on this very Forum, lol.

I'm on it! Actually, I was trying to find out if anyone had the new A6 in stock yet, to give you guys a little "review" from moi.
An M5 is certainly out of my spending range, but, although I'm kind of spoiled on wanting only a New car for my "nice car", in a couple of years, who knows.

I actually really like this ALOT. It looks alot more serious and sporty than the E60 did. But the performance data is somewhat inferior to the benchmark CTS-V. 552 HP and 501 foot pounds. I expected more torque but I guess the 7 speed DCT will make up for it. Hope it doesn't handle like a barge tho, but then again I'd like to se the w212 keep its place as best handler.

I'm just not feeling the lastest 5 series.
It's too bland, too big and less stylish than the last model.
The Hamann 5 kinda makes up for what the manufacturer did though.
