New mod. CF Wrap (followers of the "Swirl marks galore on glossy B-Pillar trim" Thread will know what inspired me to do this).
Huge thanks to Enzo TheCat for being an awesome guy and sending me the CF material, as I might have been too hesitant to do the mod if it weren't for that.
I'll say that initially I was a little worried as it looked a liiitle too "matte" on the car, and I do NOT want matte in the greenhouse area, IMO it's gotta be glossy (this is the 3M "Gloss CF Wrap" btw, which is halfway matte/halfway gloss). I get reservations only when I see the car in darker elements as the matte and/or silvery finish pops out more. However, in the sun, WOW, I LOVE it. My car really further stands out now to me, and the CF gives it a new dynamic element.
I love the glossy look of the OEM B-Pillar finish, as especially with tinted windows, it has a very monolithic and classy look, however, I like these a lot right now as well, and we'll see how my opinions stays or sways as time goes on. The car looks a lot more dynamic and sporty now I think, but less clean.
As far as appropriation, that was a concern to me. However, the W210 E55's had CF B-Pillar trim, which was the only place you found CF on that entire car, and I ALWAYS loved that look, so it has been done by M-B themselves on an E-Class. Also, the W202 C-Classes had an option for CF B-Pillar trim on solely the B-Pillar frames when equipped with the Sport Packages. However, I think this is definitely a polarizing mod.
EXCUSE ME FOR THE FILTHY/DUSTY CAR AND FINGERPRINTS ON WINDOWS FROM INSTALLATION!!!!

Thanks, CEB! This is such a new thing to me, input is very much appreciated and yours being the first "yay" is cool to see!
I agree about the CF Wraps as well, never been into 'em, but hey, this one just started inspiring me I guess.

Yeah, no more CF on the car, unless I find a place where I reaaally want it, but no, I don't want this to be a "CF car".
I'm sticking to my feeling that M-B putting it on those late 90's/early 00 models I spoke of on only the B-Pillar's just "works" in its own way.

Thanks! I'll put up some closeups today hopefully. Didn't get any for some dumb reason (I guess I'm just so interested to see how it shows at a general distance).
Yeah, didn't remove the whole trim at all, just wrapped right over it. It looks flawlessly done though, you couldn't ever tell!

Yeah, I totally agree. I've just been too lazy. I actually like the roof spoiler white, but I think at the very least the shark fin should be black, or both the shark fin and roof racks should be black (which is basically how the Pano setup is). I gotta say, I kind of like it in some ways as it looks different from the Pano look in a sense, but yeah it's a bit cluttered back there. In due time probably.

Good job, I like chrome trims too . I think you did a good job by installing these door pillars .

Here's a W210 E55 with CF door pillars (OEM, unless this particular one is an aftermarket add on), for comparisons sake (actually looks really good with silver):
These are still great looking rides!

A few new ones. Car's still filthy but it's kinda hard to tell.
Sorry for being and idiot and forgetting to take closeups again. I keep trying to capture how the texture "sheens" in different sunlights from an average distance, and it's difficult for the camera to pick up on it. For the record, I'm absolutely in loving the look of the car right now with this mod and all, guess I can't complain about that.

Actually I had someone install it for me as I got cold feet. Yeah he used a heat gun type thing, and the back side of the pillars look pretty flawless, perfect wrap and fit. Even up close from the front or the back you can't really tell it's wrapped. I'll get some closeups next of both sided to show the fitment.

Hey, would you consider chrome door mirror covers and chrome tail light frames ?
I know these chromes will look sharper on a black color than it will do to white but still it will enhance exterior look of your beauty

MB2BZ: It should take about an hour, max. It's a pretty easy job, but everything's in really tight quarters, so doing it without scratching up parts of the material or car trim for that matter is a task. Also, getting the fitment perfect is also something that requires some attention.
Thanks for the tip. Personally I'm not really into those aftermarket chrome trims, but I get what you're going with, as the CF wrap almost gives off a silver-y look in that B-Pillar area. But yeah, I'm just not big on those extra chrome bits at all. I DO however love the chrome bits that the car already comes with!

Plethora of chromes lol . I wish W212 also had chrome bumpers not just a strip but no car manufacturers do this

I think the E's chrome is "just right". To me, nothing cheeses out and ruins a cars look like too much chrome, but on the appropriate cars, an appropriate and tasteful and "strategically placed" chrome trim/s go a long way. IMO, M-B has always been masterful at this.
Though, on those Classics like the Fleetwooooood, chrome all the way baby!
